Here you can find a full Little Nightmares Walkthrough for 100% Completion that includes all Collectible Locations (Gnomes, Candles/Lanterns, Statues). This has been updated for the Enhanced version of Little Nightmares 1, which was released on June 24th 2025 as a pre-order bonus for Little Nightmares 3.

By following this guide, you will earn all trophies & achievements along the way. Little Nightmares has 5 Chapters. The story takes around 3 hours to complete.

Nothing completion-related is missable. After the story you can use Chapter Select to still get everything.

Chapter 1

Start a New Game and select Six’s story. After a cutscene, you will take control of yourself. Move right until you can’t go further. You will see a hatch and a lantern in front of it.

Candle/Lantern 1 of 20

Pull out your lighter with  and approach the lantern. This is the first of 20 lanterns/candles needed for  Light Up Your Life.

Now open the hatch and crawl through it. Follow the path up the stairs, and shortly after going upstairs, you will see an alcove with a statue.

Statue 1 of 10

Grab the statue by holding  , then press  to throw it.

 

Now move further to the right and you will reach a bedroom. Get onto the bed and before you crawl through the vent, jump on the bed until you unlock  Highly Sprung.

 

Crawl through the vent into the next room, pull or push the chair to the door, then get on the chair and grab the doorknob while jumping to open the door. Follow the path until you reach a fridge. Open it and you will see a little Gnome run away.

Candle/Lantern 2 of 21 / Gnome 1 of 13

Crawl through the small opening to the right of the fridge to find a lantern and a Gnome.

 

You must hug the Gnome by pressing   for it to count. You know you have done it right when the game does an auto-save.

Now go back to the fridge and climb up. Then go up the slope. From here, you must run to the right while avoiding the slugs. Jump over the gap and run to the right further until you reach the next room with a lever. Pull it and go into the next room. Follow the path, jump over the gap, and inside the next room, pull off the board and go into the next room. You will now drop down. After getting up, run to the right as quickly as you can while avoiding the slugs.

Candle/Lantern 3 of 21

After going through the door and jumping over the gap, you are safe from the slugs. You will see a lantern next to some planks. Light it up now.

Then climb up the planks and cross the beam on the left side. Go upstairs and follow the path to the end, then jump over the gap and go up some more stairs. Follow the path until you see a lever. Rotate it to open a door, once it is fully open, run to the right, jump over the gap, and pass the door before it closes. If you fail, repeat it until you make it. In the next room, open the hedge on the upper part of the room.

Follow the gnome to the right. After seeing the prison warden climb up the rope on the right side.

Candle/Lantern 4 of 21

After climbing the rope, you will enter a bathroom, and light up the lantern next to the sink.

Now open the door to the right and close it after passing it to reveal a lever. Pull the box with toilet paper under the lever, then jump on the box and interact with the lever.

The power shuts down, go right now and squeeze through the bars. Move right and squeeze through some more bars. Pass the hallway with doors, and you will reach an area with an eye watching the area. Don’t touch the light or you will die. Hide behind the pillar, when the eye moves, you have to move also. Hide behind the flipped bed. Wait till the eye moves left again, then you can move to the right and hide behind the boxes.

Candle/Lantern 5 of 21

Climb up the box, but before climbing up the metal grid, light up the lantern next to it.

Candle/Lantern 6 of 21 / Gnome 2 of 13

After lighting the lantern, climb up the metal, on top ignore the upper level and jump down to the right and follow the path of boxes. Jump down at the end to a little metal cage and crawl through it.

 

You will enter a storage room with the gnome and a lantern to light up. Hug the gnome again.

Statue 2 of 10

Now, get back into the previous room and climb up the metal grid again. This time, go on the upper floor and go left. You will be above the eye, move further to the left, and enter the open room on the far left side. You will find the statue on the bottom right side of the room. If you forgot it earlier, you can jump on the bed now until you unlock  Highly Sprung.

Now, leave the room and go to the right side of the upper level. You will enter a bedroom, and the warden will enter soon after. Hide under the bet to the left of where he entered. Wait till he leaves the room on the left side, then go to the right into the next room and climb up the metal boxes, then jump to the shelf on the right.

 

Jump onto the next shelf on the right and crawl through the vent.

Head right and you will get hungry, head right again until a prisoner throws bread at you through the bars, eat it.

Candle/Lantern 7 of 21

Continue to the right, and you will reach some electrified bars. Climb up the boxes, follow the path, and climb the metal boxes in the back. Then do a backjump onto some other boxes and climb up the rest of the metal boxes. You will find lantern on the upper right corner of the top floor.

Then jump onto the swinging boxes and climb up the chain and do a back jump to reach the next level.

Climb up the metal boxes to the right and pull the lever on the wall first, then once the chain is up, pull the lever on the ground to the right to move the boxes.

Once you see the boxes, pull the lever on the ground again, but this time to the left, and quickly jump onto the boxes. Once the boxes are on the left side of the room, climb up the chain and do a back jump again to reach the next floor.

Head left into the next room. Here you have to pull the lever. To reach it, you have to pull some drawers out of the cabinet. There are multiple ways to do it. The easiest way is to fully pull out the bottom left drawer, then climb it up and pull out the drawer above, but only halfway.

 

Then run and jump onto the drawer on the right and pull yourself up. Then jump and grab the lever.

 

Candle/Lantern 8 of 21 / Gnome 3 of 13

The power will go out, squeeze through the bars on the left side into the next room. Head all the way to the left and light the lantern, then free the Gnome above the lantern.

 

Now go back into the previous room where you pulled the lever, the Gnome will be on the top left side of the room next to the cabin.

Head back left and push down the cabin to raise the rope. Jump onto the rope and ride down to the lower level.

 

At the bottom, enter the next room on the right and run all the way to the right, or you will get caught by slugs. Pass the bridge and squeeze through the bars, and head right further. You will reach a room with another eye. As last time, don’t touch the light from the eye. Hide behind the boxes and wait for the moving cleaning stuff to come your way, and move with it to the other side.

 

In the next area run to the other side while the walkway splits up. Jump over the gap and climb up the box on the other side.

 

Head right to finish Chapter 1 and unlocks  The Prison.

Chapter 2

Candle/Lantern 9 of 21 / Gnome 4 of 13

In the next area, go up the stairs and enter the first room you see. Use the chair to get on the desk and light the lantern.

Then jump down and move the chair onto the orange tile with blood on it to open a door.

Enter the room through the now-open door, and you will see a little Gnome run away. Follow the gnome and go up the next stairs. On the next landing, go to the far left side to find the Gnome and hug him.

Now, continue up the stairs and jump on the box to crawl through the window.

Statue 3 of 10

In the next room, climb on the toilet to get to the sink. Now run and jump onto the cabinet.

 

Climb on top of the cabinet and from here jump on the shelf to the left to find the statue.

Get back on the cabinet and jump off to the right to get on the table with the key.

Grab the key and go to the right through a hidden door. Throw the key onto the step and get up there. Grab the key again and unlock the door on the right.

In the next room, grab the monkey and throw it on the elevator button on the right. You throw it by holding  .

Grab the monkey again and get into the elevator and throw the monkey inside the elevator onto the button on the left side.

Candle/Lantern 10 of 21

After the elevator ride, head left, and you will get hungry again. Head further to the left, and after you crawl under a pipe immediately light the lantern above you.

Move further to the left until you see a cage, and eat the meat inside.

After the screen goes black and you see yourself locked in the cage, run left and right inside the cage until it drops down.

 

Candle/Lantern 11 of 21

Once you are free, head left, squeeze through the wall, and light the lantern in the next room.

 

Get back into the first room and pull the cage under the lever. Then jump onto the lever, which will open a door on the right. Swing a bit and jump off to the right side to pass the door. This is a timed event. If you don’t make it through the door, just get onto the lever again.

 

In the next room, climb the metal door you just passed, and on top, do a back jump to reach the next level.

Candle/Lantern 12 of 21

You will see the candle right after doing the backjump. Just light it up.

Head right and crawl through the vent. In the next room, you will see the Butcher. Walk slowly behind him into the cage.

 

While you walk into the cage, he will hear the cracking of the wooden floor. Once he leaves the screen to the left, quickly get out of the cage, jump onto it, and move right. Drop down on the other side and crawl through the vent on the right.

In the next room, grab the handle and put it in the post next to it. Turn it to open a trap door and make a dash with  to reach it. If the butcher follows you before turning the handle, stay hidden until he leaves the room.

 

Candle/Lantern 13 of 21 / Gnome 5 of 13

After dropping down through the trap door, follow the vents until you drop down again. Here you will find a lantern. Light it up.

Climb up the ladder and you will see a Gnome run off, follow it into the next room and hug it there.

Now drop into the hole on the right into the vents, and from here head right until you drop into a room filled with shoes. There is a monster under these shows, so don’t stay long in the shoes.

From here, run and jump to the right to reach the next luggage.

From here, run and jump to the upper right side and get on the next luggage.

Then run and jump one last time to the bottom right to get on the last luggage.

In the next area, run all the way to the right up the stairs into the hallway. The butcher will appear, run further to the right, slide under the pipe, and run into the elevator that you used earlier. Hide inside the box here.

Stay inside the box until the elevator stops, and the butcher will leave it. Follow him in the next room. You will see a monkey and a box. Move the box with blocks inside to the left until the floorboard with the monkey moves.

 

Statue 4 of 10

Drop down the floor, and head right until you reach a bigger area. Here you can find the statue on the upper left side.

Now, backtrack a bit to where you dropped into the bottom area. Between where you dropped down and the area with the statue, you will find a wooden ladder. Climb it up when the butcher isn’t there.

You will see a monkey on the floor, pick it up, and throw it to the left side.

This will lure the butcher out of the room. Sneak through the hole on the right side and stay on the carpet. Head right and climb up the dresser.

 

Push the box away and crawl through the vent.

In the next room, after the vent, head right. Push through another door and quickly move to the dark bottom right area of the room to hide from the Butcher.

Now, grab one of the shoes, wait for the bell to ring, then throw it onto the button on the right to open the door. Hold  to throw it.

 

Now run into the open door and towards the screen, then run to the right and push through the door into the library. Get under the table on the right to make a Gnome run away.

 

Gnome 6 of 13

Follow the Gnome to the left side of the room. He will hide behind the first stack of books. Hug him there.

Candle/Lantern 14 of 21

Head back to the right and get on the table, then climb up the bookshelf. You will see a candle at the top and a hanging piano. Light the candle.

Then jump onto the piano, before you move further to the left, go back and forth on the keys of the piano a few times to unlock  Six’s Song.

From the piano jump onto the bookshelf on the left and climb up it. On top, wait for the butcher to leave the area before you follow him. Inside the library, head towards the screen and climb up the bookshelf.

Candle/Lantern 15 of 21

Above you, you can already see the candle. Climb up the bookshelf, and before you cross the bridge to the left, jump up and grab the ledge to pull yourself up.

Now, pass the bridge and move to the left to the middle bookshelf. Cross the next gap and climb down the bookshelf on the left side.

Now run and jump onto the pile of books on the bottom left. Don’t touch the wooden floor or the butcher will hear you.

Climb up the books and get into the next room. You will find a handle, place it near the door.

 

Then turn on the TV to lure the butcher into the room. Run to the handle and wait till he is on the TV.

Candle/Lantern 16 of 21

Head back through the library. Halfway through the library, you will find a candle in the middle. Light it up.

Grab the handle again and head to the right and leave the library. Outside the library, put the handle into the holder and raise the piano, then jump onto it.

 

From the piano jump to the right and get into the vent to reach the next room. Inside the next room, push the car to the right and block the steam.

 

Push the car further to the right, then jump onto it, then jump onto the door handle. Head right into it and get into the vent.

Candle/Lantern 17 of 21

Shortly after climbing up a ledge in the vent, you will find a lantern, light it up.

After the lantern, move slowly forward, and you will see the butcher’s hand coming to grab you. Wait for it till it grabs the upper pipes, then move slowly forward to the right.

After this, run all the way to the right and slide under the door. Climb up the boxes on the upper right of the room.

To defeat the butcher, you need to destroy the metal cage holding up the door. Also, avoid the butcher’s hands at all costs. Wait for the butcher’s hands to move from the metal cage, he will try to grab you. When he does that, jump in front of the metal cage and pull off one of the strings from the cage. Then quickly get on the boxes in the upper right corner and repeat the same process one more time to defeat the butcher. Then the vent will open, crawl through it to finish the chapter and unlock  The Lair.

Chapter 3

After the chapter starts, move forward and climb up the ladder. Head right and get on sack on the floor, then jump and grab one of the hooks above you.

 

After dropping into the next room and head right. Move further to the right, and you will get hungry. Move further to the right, and you will see a rat run away. Follow it and you will find it trapped soon after. Eat the rat.

Now, head right into the next room and climb up the container with the plate leaning towards you. Push it to the right to open a new path.

Statue 5 of 10

Head right over the now-open path and jump down the container. But instead of going into the next room, turn around and find the hidden path between the containers and a plate.

Follow the path into a room with the statue.

Climb up the ladder to the right, and go through the doors. Push the cart to the right, then jump onto it and jump through the window. Pick up one of the carrots, this is needed for  Kitchen Hand, and keep it for the time being. Head into the kitchen to the right and go under the cook’s table.

 

Move further to the right, and go through a small open window. No matter if the cook hears you or not, hide under the table right below the window where you just entered, as he will follow you anyway.

In this room, you will find a big pot where you have to throw three different ingredients into it to unlock  Kitchen Hand. You have to do this while the cook is also in this room. Whenever the cook sees you hide either under the table in the middle of the kitchen at the bottom. Or the table under the window where you entered the kitchen.

 

To throw stuff into the pot, hold  . The safest way to throw them is when the cook is either on the left or right-hand side of the kitchen. To lure him away, you can either let him see you and then hide from him, or you can lure him by closing the open ovens.

There are a total of 4 ingredients, you only need three.

  1. Carrot
  2. Sausage
  3. Fish
  4. Cheese

If you kept the carrot, you only need to get two of the other ingredients. The fish and cheese have fixed locations. The sausage will be dropped by the cook somewhere in the room after he spots you for the first time in the room.

 

 

After you get the trophy, head to the upper right side of the kitchen and climb up the white cabin, then jump on the beam to the left.

 

Follow the beam to the left side and climb up the metal boxes.

Candle/Lantern 18 of 21

In the next room with the toilets, climb up the toilets. Then jump onto the shelf to the left and light up the candle.

 

After this jump down and head all the way to the left into the bedroom of the cook. Inside the bedroom, head left and jump onto the shelf and grab the key. Swing back and forth until the key drops down, then immediately hide under the bed.

Gnome 7 of 13

After the cook leaves the bedroom, grab the key and leave the bedroom. Drop the key near the elevator and head right back into the bathroom. You will find the Gnome on the upper left side next to the toilets.

Gnome 8 of 13

Head back to the key, pull the lever next to the elevator, then grab the key and enter it. After the elevator ride, drop the key and go left into the room where you picked up a carrot earlier. You will spot a jumping jar, pick it up, throw it, and hug the gnome immediately. Then hide under the shelf behind the jar as the cook will enter soon after.

Wait for the cook to leave, then grab the key and head right into the kitchen again. Pass the kitchen to the right and use the key on the closed door.

Inside this room, climb up on the table and go through the vent into the next room.

Gnome 9 of 13

Inside the room, you will find the Gnome under the table in the middle.

Climb into the dumbwaiter that brings you to the upper floor.

Here you have to find two pieces of meat. The first one is right after you leave the dumbwaiter to the left. Push it down, then push it to the trapdoor on the right.

 

Head left and climb up the cabinet, then jump onto the first hook. From here, jump onto the next piece of meat to bring it down. Then push it to the trapdoor.

 

Candle/Lantern 19 of 21 / Statue 6 of 10

Before using the dumbwaiter again, head to the right and jump through the little opening on the upper right side.

Inside the new room, you will find the lantern and the statue.

 

Head back down with the dumbwaiter, then get on the table and jump on the hanging handle, then use the wheel on the machine to create three sausages.

 

Swing to the opening and head right and pass the freezer. In the next room, pull the lever for the elevator, then head back into the freezer and hide inside the boxes near the exit.

 

Wait until the cook moves to the left side of the freezer, then go into the elevator. On the next floor leave the elevator and hide quickly in the vent on the right side.

Candle/Lantern 20 of 21

After the cook opens the door to the left into another kitchen, follow him and climb up the table right after entering it. Climb up the wooden barrels onto the shelf to light up the candle.

 

Get back down and move slowly to the left side into another room. Here, press the button on the machine on the upper side, then quickly go right through a hole and get on the table where the cook was, and grab the key.

 

Now, rush to the elevator and use it, then quickly open the door on the right and hide in the box on the upper right side.

 

After the cook leaves, jump onto the hatch to open it, then head down the hatch.

Statue 7 of 10

After you dropped down, go to the bottom left side to find the statue.

Then head right and climb up the wall into the vent.

Head right until you see both cooks washing dishes. Climb up here and rush to the right and hide under the table.

 

After the cooks go back to work, walk slowly to the right. Watch out for the glass on the floor. Don’t step onto it. Move to the right into the next room. You will see a lever above a table. If the cooks hear you, hide under the table. Once it is safe, get on the table and push the lever to the other side. After this, hide immediately under the table.

Now head back to the vent where you entered the kitchen, wait for the cooks to get away from the table in the middle, then quickly climb up the dishes and jump and grab a hook.

 

Ride the hook, pass the room where you pushed the lever. Drop down into the new room, and rush to the right side, slide under a table, jump onto a box, and grab another hook to leave the area.

 

Drop down at the end and finish the chapter by going through the wall and to unlock  The Kitchen. Be careful here, as you can fall down easily on the pipe.

Chapter 4

Candle/Lantern 21 of 21 / Gnome 10 of 13

Right after you spawn into the Chapter and drop down to the pipe, turn around and enter the opening in the wall. Inside here, you will find a lantern and the Gnome. If you followed this guide until now, you should unlock  Light Up Your Life. There are more lanterns and candles to find after this point, but they won’t be covered from this point on.

 

The gnome is opposite the lantern.

Head back to the main area and go right, climb up the ladder, after this, climb up the chain.

In the new area, move over the beam until you drop down. Pull the wooden plank off and move forward.

Move further until you reach the side of an entrance. Climb up that entrance and enter the building.

Inside, jump over the hanging lamps onto the other side and squeeze through the door there.

Run through the next room and squeeze through another door. Now run all the way to the right side, jump over a ledge halfway through the room, and at the end, climb up into another room. During this section, you will unlock  Elusive.

In the next room, climb up the dishes and jump onto the lantern and swing into the next room.

Gnome 11 of 13

In this room, go all the way to the right and push the stool a bit to reveal an entrance into a secret room. Inside here, you can find the Gnome and a lantern.

Get out of the room and get on the table where all the people are eating. You can find another candle here if you still need one  Light Up Your Life.

Here, run all the way to the left side of the table. The people will try to catch you, so don’t stop until you reach the left side. Here, climb up the wall on the left side.

Up there, do a back jump onto the hanging tray. From there, jump off to the right side, then climb over the barricade.

Now run all the way to the left side into the next room, here jump onto the lamp and swing to the other side.

In this area, run to the left side until a gues attacks you, then run back to where you landed after the swing.

Now jump over the guest and run to the left side again and slide into a hole to escape. In the next area, immediately run towards the screen and then left into the next room, as the cook will come down the elevator. In the next room, hide inside the box right below the entrance.

Statue 8 of 10

After the cook leaves the room, grab on of the cans and throw it onto the mirror. This will reveal a hidden path. Climb up the wall on the back.

Follow the pipes until the and drop down to the statue.

Gnome 12 of 13

From the statue, jump down and use the elevator where the cook came out from. On the next level, enter the door to the left, and you will see a sleeping guest. The gnome is in front of the guest’s bed.

Head back into the hallway where the elevator was. This time, take the right door. From now on, a chase will start. Run all the way to the right, jump over a ledge, and slide under a table right after.

In the next hallway, run towards the camera, then head right again.

A cabinet will fall over, climb it and jump over to the table, and climb that up. Then run further to the right.

At the end of the table, jump on the lantern and swing to the other side to safety.

Gnome 13 of 13

Head right and you will get hungry again, move further to the right until you find the last Gnome. As part of the story, you have to “hug” the last gnome. If you followed this guide, you will unlock  Little Lost Things now.

Statue 9 of 10

From the gnome, head right and climb up the box and pass the window. In the next room, climb up the ladder. On top, you will see someone go into an elevator. Before you go right, head left until you find the statue.

Now, go to the elevator and grab a can on the left side, then throw it onto the button to the right of the elevator. Now, just use the elevator to finish the chapter and to unlock  The Guest Area.

Chapter 5

After leaving the elevator and go right. Head upstairs and enter the only room that is open.

In the next room, walk slowly behind the old lady into her bedroom. Here, climb up the bed and jump onto the night table, now push down the pot with the eyesymbol.

Statue 10 of 10

Grab the key from the broken pot and head back to the room where the old lady was. Jump onto the makeup table and smash the last statue to unlock  Rascal.

Now, grab the key again and head all the way back downstairs and open the locked door at the bottom of the stairs.

In the next room, run all the way to the right as the lady will chase you. Slide under the cabinet.

Run further until you reach a big open room with a lot of mannequins.

On the bottom right side of the room, remove the plank and enter the next room.

Grab the mirror from the table and go back into the room with the mannequins and go to the middle of the room.

The room will go dark, and a boss fight against the old lady will start. To defeat her, you need to stand in the lit areas. Once the room goes dark, spot the very, very slightly lit area and follow it until it stops on the left side.

Stand in the area and wait for the lady to approach you. It’s random where she comes from. With the mirror, look in the direction from which she comes. If done correctly, the mirror will shine blue, and she will get knocked down, and you will drop the mirror.

Now the room gets dark again, quickly pick up the mirror and find the lit area, and repeat the process three more times. Be aware that she gets faster each time. The lit area will go from left to right, then the center back area, then the center front area of the room. In the fourth area, you need to grab the mirror and shine the light at her three times. After you defeat her, approach the lady and interact with her.

After that, just walk upwards and up the stairs to end the chapter and the game. This will unlock  The Lady’s Quarters.
