The Heavy class is one of the highest-ranking classes in our class tier list. It’s very strong, does lots of damage, and has lots of control. If you want the fantasy of carrying only the biggest and baddest weapons, mowing through hordes and elites alike you’re at home with the Heavy class. Here’s a look at a Heavy build in Space Marine 2 that you can use for different scenarios.

Here is an example of what a Heavy Build in Space Marine 2 will use for class perks.

Heavy Build for Space Marine 2

The Heavy build in Space Marine 2 will use a mixture of these talents, depending on what weapon you like using. We’re not too fussed about recommending a specific primary weapon since all are very strong.

Perk Details
Restoration or Multi-Kill Restoration if you plan on using the Plasma or the Heavy Bolter. Multi-Kill specifically for the Multi-Melta.
Fortitude Increases Health by 20%.
Overwhelming Power When Iron Halo is active, increase Ranged Damage by 10% to Squad Members within 10 meters of you.
Additional Supplies Ammo Capacity increased by 25% for all Squad Members.
Adamant Will or Consecutive Execution Adamant Will grants 20% less health damage taken for 5 seconds after Iron Halo deactivates.  Consecutive grants Equipment CHarge after killing ten enemies in quick succession. 180 second cd.
Obdurate Bastion Iron Halo’s Durability increases by 20%.
Brute Force When Iron Halo is on cooldown, range damage increases by 15%.
Conversion Field When Iron Halo is active, all Squad Members within 100 meters regenerate Ability Cherge 50% faster

In general, this is the type of perk setup that you run. The weapon you use affects one or two Core perks, such as Multi-Melta wasting the second option in column 1. Plasma users may want to take Thermal Boost in the second column instead, but the tankyness is a good option for everyone else. 50% overheated on Heavy Bolter is impossible to aim with anyway, and Multi Meltas could do with the bonus tankyness since they want to be in close range anyway.

In terms of Team Perk, the additional ammo is often better. It’s great for yourself and your high ammo burn rate. It’s handy for other classes like Snipers since they have low ammo reserves. Vanguards get alt of benefits from it too. Less ranged damage is likely the other choice you take to support melee parties.

In terms of Gear perks, there are a lot of options. We are largely picking the more generic options to get buffs with Iron Halo, but on and off cooldown. It’s also the most consistent across anyway weapons you use.

Most Gear Perks are flexible to what you prefer to use and play like.

The Signature perk should always be the last option. Your first signature is terrible unless running Multi-Melta. The second is okay for progressing through harder difficulties when you’re still levelling. It’s good for the new fifth difficulty for season 1 as well when the game gets even harder. The final one is the most consistent option though. But, granting allies a significantly faster ability to recharge is extremely strong, especially for Tactical builds and Assault builds.

Support your primary weapon with a Plasma Pistol for those Perfect dodges and other weapon modifier synergy.

Heavy Weapons Build

In our opinion, the choice of weapon largely depends on what you’re doing. We personally recommend running Heavy Bolter for standard play. Meanwhile, the Multi-Melta is a perfect weapon for boss killing. Now in terms of the weapons themselves, we have added a list of perks based on a number of versions each weapon has. These builds help reflect the perks you want to run for each weapon style.

Perks Heavy Bolter Multi-Melta Heavy Plasma Incinerator
1 Fast Venting Increased Capacity Fast Venting
2 Perfect Cooling Elite Restoration Contingency Plan
3 Increased Capacity Heavy Fire Plasma Collection
4 Adamant Restoration Heavy Immunity Heavy Velocity
5 Heavy Might Executioner’s Fire Heavy Velocity
6 Heavy Might Heavy Might Adamant Velocity
7 Heavy Precision Heavy Might Supercharged Shot
8 Heavy Precision Fast Regeneration Supercharged Shot
9 Discipline Fast Regeneration Retaliation
10 Fast Venting Preference Charged Cooling
11 Increased Capacity

In terms of strategy, we generally recommend either running the Heavy Bolter or Plasma as your go-to weapon. These will melt hordes and elites alike. The Multi-Metla on the other hand is very good, but we advise keeping it as a spare loadout for when you can swap loadouts for bosses. The Multi Melta is very strong for countering bosses. You can also use the Heavy Plasma for bosses too if you want to.

When using secondary weapons, we recommend running the Plasma Pistol. It’s not really important to want the perks you run on it as you’re mainly using it for charge attacks against ranged elites. If you are interested, we recommend starting with going the lower path. Then go up to the top row when you reach the Plasma Collection perk. You’ll get the Terminus damage stat stick this way.

But, again, this is mainly about preference. The Heavy in general is a great class to play and this Heavy Build for Space Marine 2  can be flexible to your styles.
