BASIC RULES:

• Roles: You can be either a Civilian, or an Impostor (Undercover or Mr.White).

• Get your secret word: Pass the phone around to let each player choose their name and get a secret word! Civilians all receive the same word, the Undercover gets a slightly different word, and Mr.White gets no word at all…

• Describe your word: One by one, each player must give a short truthful description of their word. Mr.White must improvise.

• Time to vote: After discussion, vote to eliminate the person that seems to have a different word from yours. The app will then reveal the eliminated player’s role!

Tip: Mr.White wins if he guesses the Civilians' word correctly!

Overview:

Undercover is a party game where players assume secret identities and attempt to identify the undercover agent among them. The game is played with a deck of cards that features a variety of characters, with one card being designated as the undercover agent. The undercover agent's goal is to remain undetected while misleading the other players, while the other players aim to identify and expose the agent before the agent completes their mission.

Gameplay:

1. Setup: Shuffle the deck of cards and deal one card to each player face down. The player who drew the undercover agent card keeps their identity secret.

2. Rounds: The game proceeds in rounds, with each round consisting of three phases:

- Questioning Phase: Players take turns asking each other questions about their cards. Questions can be anything related to the characters on the cards, such as their appearance, personality, or occupation.

- Voting Phase: After the questioning phase, players vote on who they believe is the undercover agent. The player with the most votes is revealed as the suspected agent.

- Challenge Phase: If the suspected agent is not the undercover agent, they can challenge the vote. If they successfully guess the identity of the undercover agent, the agent is revealed. If they fail, they are eliminated from the game.

3. Mission Completion: The undercover agent's mission is to avoid being identified for a certain number of rounds, which varies depending on the number of players. If the agent succeeds, they win the game. If the other players successfully identify the agent before the mission is completed, they win the game.

Variations:

There are several variations of Undercover, including:

* Reverse Undercover: The undercover agent's goal is to be identified, while the other players try to keep their identities secret.

* Team Undercover: Players are divided into two teams, with one undercover agent on each team.

* Themed Undercover: The game can be played with different themes, such as superheroes, movie characters, or historical figures.

Tips for Playing:

* Pay attention to body language and subtle cues. The undercover agent may try to hide their true identity through their behavior.

* Ask specific and open-ended questions. This will help you gather more information and identify inconsistencies in the other players' answers.

* Be observant. Notice any discrepancies between the characters on the cards and the players' behavior or responses.

* Don't be afraid to challenge votes. If you have a strong suspicion that a player is the undercover agent, challenge the vote even if you don't have definitive proof.

* Bluff and misdirect. If you're the undercover agent, use your wits to mislead the other players and keep your identity hidden.
