Chess Kingdom is a strategy board game for two players, played on an 8x8 checkered board. The goal of the game is to checkmate the opponent's king, which means putting it in a position where it is under immediate threat of capture (check) and cannot escape.

Gameplay

The game begins with each player having 16 pieces:

* 1 King

* 1 Queen

* 2 Rooks

* 2 Knights

* 2 Bishops

* 8 Pawns

The pieces are arranged on the board in a specific starting position. Players take turns moving one piece at a time, following specific rules for each type of piece.

Movement Rules

* King: Can move one square in any direction (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal).

* Queen: The most powerful piece. Can move any number of squares along a rank (row), file (column), or diagonal.

* Rook: Can move any number of squares along a rank or file.

* Bishop: Can move any number of squares diagonally, staying on the same color.

* Knight: Moves in an "L" pattern - two squares in one direction and then one square perpendicularly. Can jump over other pieces.

* Pawn: Normally moves one square forward, but has the option of moving two squares forward on its initial move. Captures diagonally forward one square.

Special Moves

* Castling: A move involving the king and one of the rooks. The king moves two squares towards a rook, which then jumps over the king.

* En Passant: A special pawn capture that can occur under certain conditions.

* Promotion: If a pawn reaches the opposite side of the board, it can be promoted to any other piece (queen, rook, bishop, or knight).

Check and Checkmate

* Check: When the king is under immediate threat of capture.

* Checkmate: When the king is in check and cannot escape. The game ends with a checkmate.

Stalemate

A stalemate occurs when the player whose turn it is to move has no legal moves, but their king is not in check. The game ends in a draw.
