Weapons are an important part of Space Marine 2, with them being a strong part of the builds and specialities that you can do. These are an important part of the game’s identity, as roles and classes enable different styles of play. There are many guns in the game too each with their own style and niches. So, here’s a closer look at the best weapons we recommend using in Space Marine 2.

Note that all weapons in Space Marine 2 are very good. We think the ones below fit the styles and roles of the classes and gameplay set pieces much better when you can use them effectively If there’s another weapon you like, then feel free to use that.

The Las Fusil is the best sniper weapon for Operations and campaign levels for its devasting damage and is easy to use against predictable AI opponents.

Las Fusil – Sniper

The Las Fusil is an incredibly strong sniper rifle. You will find this weapon very late into the campaign or as part of the Sniper class’ loadout. When you get your hands on it, the weapon requires a charge-up before unleashing an attack. This attack is exceptionally strong and can penetrate multiple enemies when lined up. If you aim it at a head or weak spot, then the weapon can do extremely strong damage.

It’s a very effective weapon for taking out key targets in the campaign or in Operations. It can one-shot most Rubric Marine to take them to execute window on most difficulties in the campaign, and can even melt through Terminators, other mini-bosses, and more. So, if you’re looking for an effective Elite killing weapon, the Las Fusil is your weapon of choice.

The Las Fusil is slighty harder to use in PvP due to player movement making it harder to track. Consider the Bolt Sniper or precision bolters to be better in PvP siuations.

Bolt rifles are your versatile weapon, but the Heavy version stands out particularly well is a great hybrid for Tactical marine players.

Heavy Bolt Rifle – Tactical Marine

There are a lot of different bolt rifles in Space Marine 2, each specialising in some niche of sorts. But, our favourite that stands out the most is the Heavy Bolt Rifle. The reason for that is very simple, it strikes a great balance between cutting hordes down at range, while also switching to elites or other annoying ranged enemies when needed to. That balance is key, as other classes can perform at killing hordes easily or killing swarms easily. So, that balance is important for rounding out the composition in your Operation or campaign level effectively.

The Heavy Bolter is the most versatile of all the heavy weapons in the game, and pairs very well with the shield for dover while you suppress and chew through enemies.

Heavy Bolter – Heavy

Whether you’re playing online in Operations or picking up a Heavy Bolter, you’re bound to have fun with it. The weapon in the campaign offers some extremely strong horde control, alongside key elite picking off. It does the exact same in Operations and PvP too.

Throw in the Heavy class’ special ability to put a protective ranged projectile barrier in front. It turns the Heavby into a complete turret that is safe and effective at controlling enemies and pressure players in PvP. Add in the combo of the Heavy Bolter creates a very impressive display of control over any situation, whether it’s horde killing, elite smashing, or even PvP duelling. The Heavy Bolter and Heavy class’ ability does it all perfectly well.

The Melta is a fantastic weapon for nuking swarms and bursting elites in very close-range playstyles.

Melta Rifle – Vanguard

The Melta Rifle is a favourite for the close-range playstyles that players may find themselves enjoying. The Melta Rifle is available through the campaign fairly often and is available for the Vanguard and Tactical class too. However, this weapon fits very well for the Vanguard’s playstyle.

The general idea being the Vanguard is that you want to hook shot your way into key threats and fights. Dragging yourself into the thick of it with a Melta is a good option for a primary. Meltas nuke things in close range with their high firepower and close-range AOE effects. It will melt through swarms of enemies and even do a big burst of damage to players in PvP or the elites in Operations, no matter the difficulty.

Using the hook from Vanguard to get into close-range threats also helps the range weakness of the Melta rifle. So, the combo of Vanguard and Multi together creates a very strong combination that flatters each other very well.

Melee Weapons – Assault / Bulwark

Due to the nature of these two classes, they specialise in melee weapons. However, they don’t share the same weapon types. I’d recommend trying the melee weapons out for yourself for each class. Each has a different speciality based on cleaving damage, fast combo attacks, crowd control, or having better parry windows. Though we do have our favourites for each class below.

Considering Assault is all about going airborne and being in close range, you’re likely better going for the Thunder Hammer. The Thunder Hammer is about very heavy hits. The basic swings are largely AOE, and the heavy hits tend to be single-target burst attacks that can be held for more damage. This fits the Assault playstyle perfectly for landing on key threats or jumping into the thick of it and killing swarms.

Meanwhile, the Bulwark likely favours the Power Sword. The Power Sword works with the Bulwark’’s shield very well. You can alternative between empowered for cleaving effects or no power up for duelling. Throw in your shield, and you’re able to easily adjust and adapt to any melee scenario you find yourself in.
