Rugby is a team sport played with an oval ball on a rectangular field. The game is played by two teams of 15 players each. The objective of the game is to score points by carrying or kicking the ball over the opponent's goal line.
The game is played in two halves of 40 minutes each. Each half is divided into two periods of 20 minutes. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.
The game is played on a rectangular field that is 100 meters long and 70 meters wide. The field is divided into two halves by a halfway line. The goal lines are located at each end of the field.
The game is started by a kickoff. The kickoff is taken by the team that won the coin toss. The ball is kicked from the center of the field. The team that receives the ball tries to carry or kick the ball over the opponent's goal line.
The team that has possession of the ball tries to advance it down the field by carrying or kicking it. The ball can be carried by any player on the team. The ball can be kicked by any player on the team, but only if the ball is on the ground.
The team that is defending tries to stop the other team from advancing the ball. The defending team can tackle the ball carrier or kick the ball away.
If the ball is knocked out of bounds, a lineout is formed. A lineout is a set piece that is used to restart the game. The lineout is formed by the two teams lining up opposite each other on the field. The ball is thrown into the lineout by a player from the team that knocked the ball out of bounds.
If the ball is carried over the opponent's goal line, a try is scored. A try is worth 5 points. After a try is scored, the team that scored the try has the opportunity to kick a conversion. A conversion is worth 2 points.
If the ball is kicked over the opponent's goal line, a goal is scored. A goal is worth 3 points.
The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.
