Snooker, a captivating cue sport, is played on a large, rectangular table covered in green baize. The game's objective is to pot all of your colored balls (red, yellow, green, brown, blue, pink, and black) into the six designated pockets on the table before your opponent does.

Equipment

Snooker is played with a long, tapered cue stick and a set of 22 balls: 15 red balls, 6 colored balls, and a white cue ball. The colored balls are arranged in a specific pattern at the start of the game, with the reds forming a triangle at the bottom of the table.

Gameplay

The game begins with a coin toss to determine which player breaks off. The player who breaks off strikes the cue ball to scatter the red balls. The players then take turns hitting the cue ball to pot a red ball followed by a colored ball. The sequence of colored balls that must be potted is: yellow, green, brown, blue, pink, and black.

After potting a colored ball, the player must place it back on its designated spot on the table. If the player pots a red ball, they continue their turn. If they pot a colored ball, their turn ends, and their opponent takes over.

Scoring

Each red ball is worth one point. The colored balls are worth different points, with yellow being worth two points, green three points, brown four points, blue five points, pink six points, and black seven points.
