Tien Len, also known as Tien Len Mien Nam, is a popular card game widely played in Vietnam. It is a trick-taking game similar to Hearts, but with unique rules and gameplay. The game is typically played with four players in two partnerships, and the objective is to be the first team to win all the tricks.
Game Setup
A standard deck of 52 playing cards is used in Tien Len. The cards are ranked from 3 to A, with A being the highest. The suits are irrelevant.
Gameplay
The game starts with the player to the left of the dealer. This player leads with any card, and the other players must follow suit if possible. If a player cannot follow suit, they can play any card. The highest card of the suit led wins the trick, or the highest card of any suit if no one follows suit.
The player who wins the trick leads the next card. The game continues until one team wins all the tricks.
Special Cards
Tien Len has two special cards:
* 2: The 2 of any suit is a wild card and can be played on any card.
* Joker: The Joker is a wild card that can be played on any card and is the highest card in the game.
Scoring
The team that wins all the tricks scores points. The number of points scored depends on the number of tricks won:
* 3 tricks: 1 point
* 4 tricks: 3 points
* 5 tricks: 5 points

* 8 tricks: 11 points
* 9 tricks: 13 points
