Overview

FORTUNA:LIGA (CZ) is the top-tier professional football league in the Czech Republic. Established in 1993 after the dissolution of Czechoslovakia, the league consists of 16 teams and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Czech National Football League.

History

The league was initially known as the Gambrinus Liga from 1993 to 2018 due to sponsorship by the Gambrinus brewery. In 2018, Fortuna became the title sponsor, and the league was renamed FORTUNA:LIGA (CZ).

Format
