Spider is a classic single-player card game that requires strategic thinking and patience. The game is played with two decks of standard playing cards, and the goal is to build eight stacks of cards in descending order from King to Ace, all of the same suit.

Setup

To begin the game, shuffle the two decks of cards and deal ten piles of five cards each, face down. The remaining cards are placed in a pile in the center of the table, known as the "stockpile."

Gameplay

The game proceeds in a series of moves:

1. Building: Cards can be moved onto existing piles if they are one rank higher and of the same suit. For example, a 4 of hearts can be placed on a 5 of hearts.

2. Cascading: If a card is moved from a pile, any exposed cards below it are automatically moved up to fill the empty space.

3. Exposing Hidden Cards: If a face-down card is exposed by a move, it is flipped face up and can be played if possible.

4. Using the Stockpile: If no moves are available, the player can draw a new pile of five cards from the stockpile. However, the stockpile can only be used twice during the game.

Winning

The game is won when all eight stacks of cards have been built in descending order from King to Ace, all of the same suit.
