Gameplay
Solitaire is a single-player card game played with a standard deck of 52 playing cards. The objective is to sort all the cards into four foundation piles, one for each suit, in ascending order from Ace to King.
The game begins with 28 cards dealt face down into seven tableau piles, with one card flipped face up on the first six piles. The remaining 24 cards form the stock pile.
Players can move cards between the tableau piles to create sequences of descending cards in alternating colors (e.g., red Queen on black King). If a card is exposed in the stock pile, it can be moved to the tableau or to the foundation piles.
Foundation Piles
The foundation piles are located in the top-left corner of the screen. Players can move Aces to their respective foundation piles, and then continue adding cards in ascending order. Once a foundation pile is complete, it is removed from the game.
Tableau Piles
The tableau piles are located in the center of the screen. Players can move cards between the tableau piles to create sequences of descending cards in alternating colors. If a pile becomes empty, a King or a sequence starting with a King can be moved to it.
Stock Pile
The stock pile is located in the bottom-left corner of the screen. Players can draw three cards from the stock pile at a time. If the stock pile runs out, players can recycle the cards from the tableau piles to form a new stock pile.
Scoring
Solitaire is typically played without scoring, but some variations include point systems for completing certain actions, such as moving cards to the foundation piles or creating long sequences.
Variations
Solitaire has numerous variations, including:
* Klondike: The classic version of Solitaire described above.
* Spider: A more challenging variation with eight tableau piles instead of seven.
* FreeCell: A variation where players can move cards to four free cells, which can be used to store cards temporarily.
* Pyramid: A variation where cards are arranged in a pyramid shape.
Tips for Winning
* Expose cards in the tableau piles as quickly as possible.
* Create long sequences of cards in alternating colors.
* Move Aces to the foundation piles as soon as possible.
* Recycle the stock pile when necessary.
* Don't get stuck on one pile; focus on moving cards between all the piles.
