Andaluces Villena is a Spanish football club based in Villena, Alicante. The club was founded in 1972 and currently plays in the Tercera División RFEF, Group 6.
History
Andaluces Villena was founded in 1972 as a merger of two local clubs, CD Villena and CD Andes. The club initially played in the regional leagues before gaining promotion to the Tercera División in 1983. Andaluces Villena spent the next few years in the Tercera División, achieving a best finish of second place in 1987.
In 1991, Andaluces Villena won promotion to the Segunda División B, the third tier of Spanish football. The club spent the next four seasons in the Segunda División B, before being relegated back to the Tercera División in 1995.
Andaluces Villena has remained in the Tercera División ever since, with the exception of one season in the Segunda División B in 2003-04. The club has won the Tercera División championship on two occasions, in 1990 and 2003.
Stadium
Andaluces Villena plays its home matches at the Estadio La Solana, which has a capacity of 5,000 spectators. The stadium was opened in 1983 and is located on the outskirts of Villena.
Rivalries
Andaluces Villena's main rivals are CD Eldense, who are also based in the province of Alicante. The two clubs have met on numerous occasions in the Tercera División and Segunda División B.
