Ballies is a fast-paced basketball card game for 2-4 players that simulates the excitement and strategy of real-life basketball. Players take on the role of coaches, drafting teams, calling plays, and managing their players to score points and win the game.

Setup

The game begins with each player drafting a team of 10 players from a pool of cards representing real-life NBA players. Players can choose from a variety of positions, including guards, forwards, and centers, each with unique abilities and strengths.

Once teams are drafted, players set up their courts, consisting of three zones: the backcourt, frontcourt, and key. The game is played over a series of rounds, with each round representing a possession.

Gameplay

On their turn, a player chooses a play card from their hand. Each play card represents a specific basketball move, such as a drive, shot, or pass. The player then assigns their players to the court zones and calls the play.

The opponent then has the opportunity to respond with a defensive play card. Defensive cards can counter offensive plays, block shots, or steal the ball.

The outcome of each play is determined by rolling a die. The result of the die roll is modified by the abilities of the players involved and the effectiveness of the plays and defenses chosen.

Scoring

Points are scored when a player successfully completes a shot. Shots can be taken from any zone on the court, but the closer the player is to the basket, the higher the chance of success.

Winning the Game

The first player to reach a predetermined score (usually 21 points) wins the game.
