Knockout Whist Gold is a trick-taking card game for four players in two partnerships. The goal of the game is to be the first partnership to reach a predetermined number of points by taking tricks.

Gameplay

The game is played with a standard deck of 52 cards. The cards are ranked from high to low: A, K, Q, J, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2.

The game begins with the dealer dealing 13 cards to each player. The player to the left of the dealer leads with any card. The other players must follow suit if possible. If a player cannot follow suit, they may play any card.

The highest card of the suit led wins the trick. If a trump card is played, it wins the trick regardless of suit.

The player who wins the trick leads the next card. The game continues until all 13 tricks have been taken.

Scoring

Each trick taken is worth 1 point. The first partnership to reach the predetermined number of points wins the game.

Special Rules

* Knockouts: If a player takes all 13 tricks in a single hand, their partnership wins the game immediately.

* Nil: A player may declare that they will not take any tricks in a hand. If they succeed, their partnership wins 10 points. If they fail, their partnership loses 10 points.

* Trumps: The trump suit is determined by the first card played in the first trick. The trump suit can change during the game if a player plays a card that is higher than the current trump card.

Strategy

Knockout Whist Gold requires a combination of skill and luck. Some basic strategies include:

* Lead with your strongest suit. This will give you a better chance of winning the trick and leading again.

* Follow suit if possible. This will prevent your opponents from winning the trick with a trump card.

* Trump high cards. If you have a high trump card, play it early to prevent your opponents from using it to win tricks.

* Nil when you have a weak hand. This will give you a chance to win 10 points if you succeed.

* Knockout when you have a strong hand. This will give you a chance to win the game immediately.
