Description

Classic chess is a two—player board game played on a chessboard with 64 squares arranged in rows of an 8x8 grid. Each player starts with 16 pieces: including a king, one queen, two knights, two rooks, two bishops and eight pawns. The goal of this chess game is to checkmate the opponent's king, putting him in imminent danger of capture.

The game can be played with artificial intelligence or together with another person on the same device. Also in the game there is the possibility of solving chess problems.

Classic Chess

Objective:

The objective of classic chess is to checkmate the opponent's king, a position where it is under immediate threat of capture and cannot escape.

Gameplay:

Chess is played on an 8x8 checkered board with 64 squares, alternating between light and dark colors. Each player begins the game with 16 pieces: one king, one queen, two rooks, two knights, two bishops, and eight pawns. The pieces move according to specific rules, with the most powerful being the queen and the least powerful being the pawn.

Movement of Pieces:

* King: Moves one square in any direction – horizontal, vertical, or diagonal.

* Queen: Moves any number of squares along a rank (row), file (column), or diagonal.

* Rook: Moves any number of squares along a rank or file.

* Bishop: Moves any number of squares diagonally, staying on the same color.

* Knight: Moves in an "L" pattern – two squares in one direction and then one square perpendicularly.

* Pawn: Moves one square forward, except for its initial move where it can move two squares forward. Captures diagonally forward one square.

Special Moves:

* Castling: A move involving the king and one of the rooks, where the king moves two squares towards a rook, which then jumps over the king.

* En Passant: A special pawn capture that occurs when a pawn moves two squares forward from its starting position and lands beside an opponent's pawn. The opponent can capture the first pawn "en passant" as if it had moved only one square forward.

* Promotion: If a pawn reaches the opposite side of the board, it can be promoted to any other piece (queen, rook, bishop, or knight) of the same color.

Check and Checkmate:

* Check: When the king is under immediate threat of capture.

* Checkmate: When the king is in check and cannot escape capture.

Game End:

The game ends in one of three ways:

* Checkmate: One player checkmates the opponent's king.

* Stalemate: A player's turn to move, but has no legal moves and is not in check.

* Draw: By agreement between the players, repetition of the same position three times, insufficient material to checkmate, or the 50-move rule (no capture or pawn move in the last 50 moves).
