Card Game Instructions:

Similar to popular multiplayer card games like Canasta or Watten, Jassen is played in teams of two. The "Schieber" variant uses a 36-card deck with four players.

Each player is dealt nine cards, and one player selects the trump suit OR one of two different game modes:

Top-Down: 6 is the lowest card, and Ace is the highest

Bottom-Up: 6 is the highest card, and Ace is the lowest

After selecting a game mode, players can declare a "Weis" if they have specific card combinations in their hand, earning extra points.

The game proceeds counter-clockwise, with card values depending on the chosen Jass game method.

Important rules include:

Follow suit, except when

You can always trump

You cannot undertrump

If you can't follow suit, you may play any card but not undertrump

Trump Jack (Puur) has no suit obligation

Jassen is a popular trick-taking card game played in Switzerland and other parts of Europe. It is a game of strategy and luck, where players compete to win tricks and accumulate points.

Objective:

The objective of Jassen is to win tricks and score points. The player or team with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Gameplay:

Jassen is played with a deck of 36 cards, consisting of four suits: Clubs, Diamonds, Hearts, and Spades. The suits are ranked in ascending order, with Clubs being the lowest and Spades being the highest. Each suit has nine cards: Ace (highest), King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, and 6 (lowest).

The game is played by four players in two partnerships. Partners sit opposite each other. The game starts with the player to the left of the dealer dealing six cards to each player. The remaining cards are placed face down in the center of the table to form the stock.

The player to the left of the dealer leads the first trick by playing any card. Other players must follow suit if possible. If a player cannot follow suit, they may play any card, including a trump card. Trump cards are the four Jacks and the nine of Diamonds. They can beat any other card, regardless of suit.

The player who plays the highest card of the suit led, or the highest trump card, wins the trick and collects the cards played. The winner of the trick leads the next trick.

Scoring:

Points are awarded for winning tricks and for capturing certain cards. The following points are awarded:

* Trick: 1 point

* Ace: 1 point

* King: 2 points

* Queen: 3 points

* Jack: 4 points

* Nine of Diamonds: 9 points

Winning:

The game continues until one partnership reaches 500 points. The partnership with the most points wins the game.

Variations:

There are many variations of Jassen, with different rules and scoring systems. Some popular variations include:
