Happy Landlord is a popular Chinese card game for four players that combines elements of poker and rummy. The objective of the game is to be the first player to get rid of all their cards.

Gameplay

The game is played with a deck of 54 cards, including two jokers. The cards are ranked from 3 to A, with 2 being the highest card. The suits are irrelevant.

To start the game, each player is dealt 13 cards. The remaining cards are placed in a draw pile in the center of the table.

The player to the left of the dealer starts the game by playing a single card or a combination of cards. The next player must then play a card or combination of cards that is of the same rank or higher. If a player cannot play a card, they must draw a card from the draw pile.

There are several different combinations of cards that can be played:

* Single: A single card.

* Pair: Two cards of the same rank.

* Three of a kind: Three cards of the same rank.

* Straight: Three or more cards in sequence.

* Flush: Three or more cards of the same suit.

* Full house: Three of a kind and a pair.

* Four of a kind: Four cards of the same rank.

* Straight flush: Three or more cards in sequence and of the same suit.

* Royal flush: A straight flush from 10 to A.

The player who plays the highest combination of cards wins the trick and leads the next round.

Special Cards

There are two special cards in the game:

* Joker: The joker can be used as any card.

* 2: The 2 is the highest card in the game and can beat any other card.

Winning

The first player to get rid of all their cards wins the game. The other players then score points based on the cards they have left in their hands.

Scoring

* Single: 1 point

* Pair: 2 points

* Three of a kind: 3 points

* Straight: 4 points

* Flush: 5 points

* Full house: 6 points

* Four of a kind: 7 points

* Straight flush: 8 points

* Royal flush: 9 points

The player with the lowest score at the end of the game wins.
