Tute Torneos is a popular trick-taking card game played in Spain and other parts of Europe. It is a variation of the classic game of Tute, with the addition of a tournament structure.

Gameplay

Tute Torneos is played with a Spanish deck of 40 cards, consisting of four suits (swords, cups, coins, and clubs) and eight cards per suit (ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and king).

The game is played by four players in two partnerships. The players sit opposite their partners, and the cards are dealt evenly among them.

The player to the left of the dealer leads with any card. The other players must follow suit if they can. If they cannot follow suit, they may play any card, including a trump card.

The highest card of the suit led wins the trick. If a trump card is played, it wins the trick regardless of the suit.

The player who wins the trick leads the next card. The game continues until all the cards have been played.

Scoring

The object of the game is to score the most points. Points are scored by taking tricks and by capturing certain cards.

* Tricks: Each trick is worth 1 point.

* Captures:

* King of trumps: 4 points

* Queen of trumps: 3 points

* Knight of trumps: 2 points

* Jack of trumps: 1 point

* Ace of trumps: 1 point

Tournament Structure

Tute Torneos is typically played in a tournament format. The tournament consists of several rounds, with each round being played at a different table.

The players are seeded based on their previous performance in the tournament. The top-seeded players are placed at the top tables, and the lower-seeded players are placed at the lower tables.

The players at each table play a predetermined number of games. The winners of each game receive a certain number of points, and the players with the most points at the end of the tournament are declared the winners.

Variations

There are many variations of Tute Torneos, including:

* Tute Cabrón: A variation in which players can capture the cards of their opponents.

* Tute Variante: A variation in which the number of cards dealt to each player is reduced to 32.

* Tute Real: A variation in which the king of trumps is worth 5 points and the queen of trumps is worth 4 points.
