Ghost of Yotei All Ainu Items Locations

Ghost of Yotei contains 30 Ainu Item locations. Finding the Ainu Items isn’t necessary for any trophies, but they let you upgrade the Robes for Sitturaynu armor, which spawns a golden bird to lead you to other collectibles.

Wearing the Robes for Sitturaynu will spawn a green firefly when an Ainu Item is nearby. You can also play the Song of the Ainu (Shamisen Song) and the wind will automatically guide you to the nearest Ainu Item, which makes them very easy to locate. In the accessibility settings you can turn on the Wind Gust Camera setting, when you play the Song of the Ainu the camera will automatically face in the direction of the nearest item.

Nothing is missable, everything can still be done after the story in free-roam.

Quest-Related

Ainu Item #1 – Only obtainable during Side Tale: A Drink with a Stranger. Talk to the old man at the named map location “Ainu Askur Trader”. He then wants you to find his lost Ainu Item at the end of the cliffs where a Pillar of the Fallen is. He leads you to the ledge where you can climb down to reach the item, getting it is the quest objective so can’t miss it.

Ainu Item #2 – Reward for completing Side Tale: The Soul of an Instrument which starts in Tokachi Range.

Yotei Grasslands

Ainu Item #3 – At the bottom of the beach between two waterfalls.

Ainu Item #4 – In the middle of Lake Kuttara

Ainu Item #5 – West of Windy Meadow at the edge of the map, in a little camp.

Ainu Item #6 – In an area with trees around it near the river. Must cut through the bamboo to enter the area with the trees, then find the Ainu Item in a little camp.

Ainu Item #7 – Along the Nupur River in a small camp, examine the pile of leaves under the big tree. This will give you the “Item of Ainu Craft”, view it by pressing Touchpad or under Inventory > Key Items > Item of Ainu Craft. After you view it, this will count as an Ainu Item and you also get the side tale “The Ainu Heirloom“.

Ainu Item #8 – Slightly north from Saito Recruitment Camp, left of the waterfall under a tree.

Ishikari Plain

Ainu Item #9 – Directly south from Matsumae Outpost, on top of a cliff where a river flows below.

Ainu Item #10 – At Howling Cove, at the burned house.

Ainu Item #11 – To the left of two waterfalls, just outside the pool of water.

Ainu Item #12 – At the peak of a cliff in the west of Ishikari Plain, overlooking the ocean.

Tokachi Range

Ainu Item #13 – On top of the cliff directly south from Prospector’s Camp.

Ainu Item #14 – Directly at the named area “Bamboo Rock”. If you fast travel to Bamboo Rock the Ainu Item will be directly in front of where you spawn.

Ainu Item #15 – Slightly north of the “Y” from “Yamane Bluffs” on the map, you find an Ainu who is standing near a deer. Approach him and you’ll automatically talk to him and get this Ainu Item afterward.

Ainu Item #16 – Where the “W” of “Shizunai Woods” is on the map, there you find a hill. The item is on the hill.

Ainu Item #17 – Inside Marshland Homestead enemy camp, in the middle of the camp, inside the building with a straw roof, in front of the Altar of Reflection.

Ainu Item #18 – Where the “V” of “Boar’s Eye Cave” is on the map, on top of a cliff, under a tree.

Nayoro Wilds

Ainu Item #19 – Directly east of the text “Nayoro Falls” on the map. Look for a wooden pole in the ground with an arrow sticking out of it, at the east edge of the map.

Ainu Item #20 – Requires Mythic Tale: The Legend of Opusnupuri. During this tale you pull down the destructible wall on the mountain in the south of Nayoro Wilds. Then you can enter the area behind the destructible wall. Jump over the first ledge and then use the grappling hook to pull yourself up a tree stump. After this check the alcove on the left for the Ainu Item.

Ainu Item #21 – In the north of Nayoro Wilds, along Nupur River check the wooden sticks at the rocks.

Teshio Ridge

Ainu Item #22 – On the cliff on top of a mountain, where the “ru” of “Sakuru Woods” is on the map.

Ainu Item #23 – In a little campsite off the southern shore of the frozen Sarobetsu Lake.

Ainu Item #24 – In the west of Teshio Ridge at the foot of a snowy mountain that has a Pillar of the Fallen. Looks like a little campsite near to a road.

Ainu Item #25 – Inside the first building at Hunting Camp Hideout. To reach this area, enter Sarufutsu Lighthouse on the north-east tip of the cliffs. Inside you must spin some fox statues: spin the two on the left to face each other, and the two on the right to face each other. Then you can pick up the little fox statues and place them on the pedestals at the door. Then go through the door to reach the camp. Enter the first big building, in the area where some dead bodies are.

Ainu Item #26 – Inside Cape Inari Hideout, in the building in the back. You enter this camp through Cape Inari Shrine. Must squeeze through a gap to the right of a locked door to enter a cave where you pick up a torch, then light the lantern in that cave and light a second lantern through a gap further left. Then continue to light lanterns with a torch and climb up to the camp.

Oshima Coast

Ainu Item #27 – In Miyama Village enemy camp, inside a straw hut in the south-east corner of the camp, just outside a gate where the camp leader is.

Ainu Item #28 – Found inside Saito Artillery Outpost, at the edge of the camp next to a watchtower, at a broken fence.

Ainu Item #29 – Where the “Re” of “Hakodate Shore” is on the map, in a little woodcutter’s camp.

Ainu Item #30 – Slightly east from Weeping Sakura Graveyard, in a small camp in the woods along a narrow road.
