Ghost of Yotei contains 6 Dueling Tree locations. Finding all Dueling Trees is a requirement towards the Unrivaled trophy and is needed for Mythic Tale: Takezo the Unrivalled.
At each Dueling Tree you find a ronin who wants to duel you. Except at the Coastal Dueling Tree in the south of Yotei Grasslands, this one is only available after clearing the other 5 Dueling Trees.
Nothing is missable, everything can still be done after the story in free-roam.

Dueling Tree 1 (Yotei Grasslands)
This tree is just south of Shikotsu River in Yotei Grasslands. Challenge the ronin to a duel and kill him.
Dueling Tree 2 (Yotei Grasslands)
This tree is north-west of Yotei River in Yotei Grasslands. Challenge the ronin to a duel and kill him.
Dueling Tree 3 (Tokachi Range)
This tree is right in the north-west of Tokachi Range. You need to squeeze through a small gap in the cliffside to find this. Challenge the ronin to a duel and kill him.
Dueling Tree 4 (Tokachi Range)
This tree is just south of Tomamu Marshlands in Tokachi Range. Challenge the ronin to a duel and kill him.
Dueling Tree 5 (Tokachi Range)
This tree is at Niikappu Falls in north-east Tokachi Range. Challenge the ronin to a duel and kill him.
Dueling Tree 6 (Yotei Grasslands)
After clearing all other 5 Dueling Trees, this will be marked as a quest objective in the south of Yotei Grasslands. Track it from the map to have the wind guide you there. It’s on top of the cliffs and is a named map area. Interact with the tree stump by the campfire to “wait for Takezo”. Then follow him down the beach to start the duel.
