Ghost of Yotei contains 11 Armor locations. Acquiring all Armors unlocks the For All Occasions trophy.
Armor is unlocked from quests, one comes from finding all 16 Hot Springs, and one comes from meeting a boy named Taro. 3 armors are automatic story unlocks. Each armor grants different passive buffs. You can upgrade every armor at armorers, for example at the Old Inn/Yotei’s Shadow Inn in Yotei Grasslands, which will improve the passive buffs. As soon as you reach a new region from story progress you can get the armors in that region.
Nothing is missable, everything can still be done after the story in free-roam.

How to Unlock All Armor
1 – Onyro Armor
Starting armor, automatically equipped. The upgrades are all automatic story unlocks too (up to Onryo Armor V).
2 – Mercenary Attire
Automatic story unlock from Main Tale: The Oni.
3 – Nine Tail Armor
Automatic story unlock from Main Tale: The Kitsune.
4 – Taro’s Armor
Obtained from Taro, a little boy. There are multiple ways to find him and obtain this. Sometimes when you make a camp he will randomly appear and gifts you this armor for free (to make a camp approach your horse and hold 
). You can also find him at camps throughout the game, especially in Tokachi Range region. For example, you can find him in the south of Tokachi Range at Shizunai Woods. Two men are at his camp, approach and you will automatically make some food for Taro, he gifts you the armor as a reward. The images below show that location.
5 – Armor of the Undying
Unlocked from Mythic Tale: The Undying Samurai in Shikari Plain.
6 – Spider Lily Armor
Unlocked from Mythic Tale: The Spider Lily General in Tokachi Range.
7 – Dragonfly Armor
Unlocked from Side Tale: The Dragonfly Armor in Tokachi Range.
8 – Robes for Sitturaynu
Unlocked from Side Tale: The Heart of an Ainu in Nayoro Wilds.
9 – Crimson Kimono
Unlocked from Mythic Tale: The Crimson Kimono in Teshio Ridge.
10 – Ginji’s Guard Armor
Unlocked from Sensei Tale: Pride Before Tea in Oshima Coast.
11 – Bounty Master Armor
Unlocked from Bounty: Soma the Condemned in Oshima Coast.
12 – Fundoshi
Reward for completing all Hot Springs.
