Ghost of Yotei’s story consists of 10 main quests. The three long missions are “The Oni”, “The Kitsune”, “The Saito Brothers” which can be played in any order. These take about 90-120 minutes each (around 5-6 hours), while the other 7 main quests only take about 30 minutes each (3.5 hours).
Ghost of Yotei’s story can be finished in about 10 hours when doing a story-focused playthrough on the easiest difficulty.
Ghost of Yotei Story Length Estimates:
- 10 Hours for a story-only speedrun on the easiest difficulty “Casual”.
- 20-30 Hours on Medium difficulty doing a moderate amount of side content. Most players will likely fall into that range, doing a bit of everything and exploring on their own.
- 50-60 Hours on Easy to Medium difficulty while doing all side content along the way. This is for a completionist playthrough.
On Hard or Lethal it can take another 10-20 hours longer due to the combat difficulty being more challenging.
Time to unfog full map:
- Unfogging the full world map takes about 10 hours total. You have to go everywhere manually to unfog the map, it’s not automatically unfogged. Only the areas outlined in yellow when you zoom out the map are actually explorable. There are 6 regions, most of the world map can’t be visited and isn’t explorable. The areas don’t look too big on their own, but because some sections involve a lot of climbing it takes a while to explore every corner.
100% Completion / Platinum Trophy / 1000 Gamerscore:
- Platinum Trophy: 50-70 hours. About 10 hours story, 10 hours trophy-relevant side quests, 10 hours bounty hunts, 20 hours for all collectibles and yotei six camps. If you only do the bare minimum content required for platinum and play on casual difficulty it’s doable in about 50 hours. If playing on Medium difficulty and doing non-trophy quests it’ll be around 60+ hours.
