Borderlands 4 Free for the TASKing Side Mission Walkthrough

Free for the TASKing is a side mission in Borderlands 4 (BL4). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Free for the TASKing Side Quest.

• Starting Location: The Fadefields > The Howl > The Launchpad
• Quest Giver: Kilo
• Unlock Requirement: Finished Side Mission The Kairos Job
• Reward: XP, Money, Eridium, a Weapons Cache at the end of the mission
• Quest Description: How the hell do you open these things?

Objectives:

1. Find Order pod
2. Smack button

Starting Location: Free for the TASKing

This side mission starts in the exact same place where the previous mission The Kairos Job started, in the outer courtyard of The Launchpad faction town. Kilo will stand there and offers the quest.

Find Order pod

The Order pod is 360 meters to the north-east, on a hill. It’s a big metal container.

Smack button

Just like in the previous side missions, you must interact with the 4 buttons/levers in a specific order to open the pod:

1. MELEE the RED BUTTON
2. FLIP the LEFT SWITCH
3. SHOOT the PANEL
4. PULL the RIGHT LEVER
5. MELEE the RED BUTTON
6. PRESS the RED BUTTON
7. PULL the RIGHT LEVER
8. PRESS the RED BUTTON
9. MELEE the RED BUTTON
10. PRESS the RED BUTTON
11. SHOOT the PANEL
12. FLIP the LEFT SWITCH
13. PRESS the RED BUTTON
14. SHOOT the PANEL
15. FLIP the LEFT SWITCH
16. PULL the RIGHT LEVER
17. FLIP the LEFT SWITCH
18. PULL the RIGHT LEVER
19. PRESS the RED BUTTON
20. SHOOT the PANEL
21. MELEE the RED BUTTON
22. FLIP the LEFT SWITCH

After you complete this correctly, the door will open and the quest will complete immediately. There’s a weapon cache inside. You will unlock the next side mission TASK and Ye Shall Receive.
