Borderlands 4 Breeding Daisies Side Mission Walkthrough

Breeding Daisies is a side mission in Borderlands 4 (BL4). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Breeding Daisies Side Quest.

• Starting Location: The Fadefields > The Howl
• Quest Giver: Mort
• Unlock Requirement: Completed Main Mission 3: Down and Outbound + killed the Treshers near the quest giver Mort
• Reward: EXP, Cash, Shotgun (Green to Purple Rarity), Vault Hunter Head (It’s Threshy!), Eridium
• Quest Description: Everyone knows threshers are great at digging. And that must mean they’re great at farming right? Well, that’s what it’s time to find out…once you help a farmer breed some threshers, that is.

Objectives:

1. Save Mort from the Threshers
2. Reach thresher nest
3. Collect thresher eggs 0/3
4. Return to Mort
5. Give eggs to Mort
6. Collect mangler meat
7. Return to farm
8. Place thresher food
9. Subdue Daisy
10. Perform a thresher mating call
11. Kill wildhorns
12. Perform mating call, but mean it this time
13. Kill kratch
14. Perform a mating call that unleashes your inner thresher
15. Subdue thresher
16. Set mood

Starting Location: Breeding Daisies

This is a hidden side mission that isn’t marked on the map by a “!” icon when unfogging the area. To trigger it, you must go to the lake west of The Launchpad (faction town). When you go there the first time, a guy called Mort will call you over the radio and tells you he is having trouble with Treshers. He sits on a rock by the lake (the second rock to the left of the tower). You have to kill the treshers below the rock where he sits, only after that the side mission icon will appear. Then you can talk to Mort on the rock to start it. If you don’t kill the Threshers, the side mission icon wouldn’t appear, and if you went to the area before you won’t get a call about it again. However, it remains accessible at any time and is still there after the story even if you went there before and ignored it.

Reach thresher nest

Head to the marker 75 meters to the north. Once you approach the cave entrance, the objective will update.

Collect thresher eggs 0/3

Head into the cave and defeat the 3 Badass Threshers, each of them drops one egg. Two are straight ahead, one is on the left in the upper cave. Collect the blue egg that each Badass Thresher drops.

Return to Mort

Bring the 3 eggs back to Mort who is on a farm near the lake where the quest started.

Give eggs to Mort

When you get close to Mort he will automatically request the eggs. Hand them over.

Collect mangler meat

Head to either mission marker to the north to find some Manglers. Simply take out a few Manglers and they will drop Mangler meat. Pick up any 3 pieces.

Return to farm

Head back to the farm to see Mort.

Place thresher food

Once back on the farm place the food in the giant food bowl for Daisy, the baby Thresher.

Subdue Daisy

Daisy will become hostile, attack her until she has a sliver of life left, then she will calm back down.

Perform a thresher mating call

Interact with the megaphone on the left side of the farm.

Kill wildhorns

Unfortunately your call attracted Wildhorns. Defeat them all. If this task doesn’t change after defeating them all then head off the farm and check if any Wildhorns ran away. Also check the radar at the top of the screen for their red icons.

Perform mating call, but mean it this time

Head back to the megaphone to fail miserably again at this.

Kill kratch

This time you have called in Kratch, take them all out. If the objective doesn’t update, check your radar at the top of the screen for the red enemy icons. Some of them spawn far away the mountain southwest from the farm.

Perform a mating call that unleashes your inner thresher

Head back to the megaphone and try again.

Subdue thresher

This time you need to attack Ivan the Thresher. Once you bring him down to a sliver of health, he will relax. Him and Daisy will disappear into the Hump Hut.

Set mood

Head to the jukebox in front of the Hump Hut and interact with it. The Threshers will do their thing and you will have completed this side mission.

This finishes Breeding Daisies side mission in Borderlands 4 and unlocks the next Side Mission Whack-A-Thresher.
