Meat is Murder is a side mission in Borderlands 4 (BL4). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Meat is Murder Side Quest.
- Starting Location: The Fadefields > Coastal Bonescape
- Quest Giver: Byron
- Unlock Requirement: After Main Mission 2: Recruitment Drive
- Reward: Experience, Cash, Pistol (green to purple rarity), Vault Hunter Style (Tropic of Cairn), Eridium
- Quest Description: Violence, of the most heinous sort, has transpired in the quaint confines of a humble farm. Such depravity must be met with a penetrating intellect, an unflinching heart, and of course, swift and merciless vengeance.

Starting Location: Meat is Murder
This side mission starts in a farm area in the east of Coastal Bonescape, the first region. There will be some areas in this area that you must defeat first, because the quest giver complains it’s not safe. Then go inside the main building, in the corner to the right of the entrance you can shoot the red barricade at the door. This opens the door so you can reach the quest giver.
Follow Byron
Follow Byron into the barn as he continues to talk.
Search barn
Once Byron is done speaking you will see 4 objects highlighted in green. Head over to all 4 and interact with them. After each, you get a little dialogue and the objective counter takes a while to update.
#1 + #2 – Check the hand on the table in the middle, and the ripper bodies to the right of the hand.
#3 – Check the beast body that lies next to the barn entrance by the ladder.
#4 – Check the panel on the side wall next to the barn entrance.
Find Harper
Head back up to the front of the barn where you found the bones on the table. Harper is hanging from the ceiling. Interact with the glowing radio and the grinder ahead will start.
Activate kill switch
Head up to the platform to the left and you will see a switch on the computer. Use it to “stop” the grinder.
Destroy coolant regulators
Head out back behind the building from the door on the right side of the grinder and you will see the regulators highlighted. Use your grapple to open the regulator housing and shoot the regulator inside. On the opposite side you will find the second hatch. Open it and destroy the second regulator.
Release Harper
Head back inside where the quest marker will be on the hanging body above the grinder. Shoot it down.
Examine Harper’s body
Head over to the body on the grinder and examine it to receive the quest item.
Examine Radio
Harper’s body has a radio on it. Collect that also for a message from Grin Reaper.
Kill rippers
You will get ambushed by Rippers. Defeat them as they approach the barn.
Reach tool shop
Follow the quest marker to find Otis in a nearby town.
Talk to shop owner
Speak to Otis and he will tell you about a cave behind a waterfall.
Find cave beyond waterfall
Head north through Plungeford, the location line will guide you to the waterfall (hold 
/ “Z” on PC). Approach the cave to progress to the next objective.
Reach cave
Break the wooden boards blocking the doorway and head inside the cave.
Kill murderer
Inside you will find Zeke who will become hostile and start shooting at you. Take him out.
Listen to radio
Once Zeke is dead, interact with his radio. Doing so will end this mission.
