Rising Action is the 15th main mission in Borderlands 4 (BL4). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Rising Action Main Quest.
- Starting Location: Kairos > Terminus Range > Belton’s Bore
- Quest Giver: Zadra
- Unlock Requirement: having completed Main Quest 14: His Vile Sanctum
- Recommended Level: 20
- Reward: XP, Money, Rare Grenade & Voice of the Void Vault Hunter Style
- Quest Description: The three Command Bolts are in hand, which means the Timekeeper’s days are numbered. Getting into Dominion to use them, though… that’s the tricky part. Zadra can help point in the right direction – with an assist from Amara.

Starting Location: Rising Action
Talk to Zadra
You can fast travel to Zadra in the Dissected Plateau in the Fadefields to talk to her.
Place command bolts
Interact with the terminal next to Zadra to place the bolts.
Take command bolts
After a conversation, pick up the bolts again.
Talk to Amara
Amara is in the broken Sanctuary station in the mountains. Once you reach the location, a cutscene will start.
Reach launch platform
You can now fast travel to the Fallen Crown area in the northwest part of the map to reach the platform.
Kill rippers
Now kill all enemies in this area to proceed.
Follow Amara
After killing the enemies, follow Amara until she stops.
Release clamps
Amara will try to release the clamps, but she will fail. You now have to use your grappling hook to release the clamp.
Now head to the other two clamps nearby and release them too. The order does not matter.
Follow Amara to ignition building
Now follow her to the ignition building to ignite the engines.
Ignite engines
To ignite them, enter the building with your grappling hook and enter the command room, here just press the button.
Follow Amara to dish tower
Follow Amara again to a tower nearby.
Climb dish tower
Use your grappling hook on the backside of the tower.
After that, jump on the wall and climb around the corner to reach the next platform.
Go around the corner and use your grappling hook to reach the roof.
Align dish
To align the antenna, stand at the corner of the roof and use your grappling hook on the antenna from afar.
Follow Amara to access lift
Jump back down and follow her to the lift.
Follow Amara
Since the lift won’t work, follow her to a nearby location.
Reach control terminal
Amara will lift a platform. Use your grappling hook to reach it.
From the lifted platform, jump on the wall and climb up.
Inside the building, follow the path until you reach the ladder, then climb it.
Then, jump on the first wall, turn right, and jump onto the second wall and climb it.
Now follow the path until you reach the control room.
Place Callis’s command bolt
Just place the bolt into the machine.
Hack controls
After that, interact with the computer nearby.
Take Callis’s command bolt
After a conversation, pick up the bolt again.
Use access lift
Now get into the next room, inside, turn around, look up, and use your grappling hook to pull yourself up.
Head outside and turn right, then climb up the wall.
You will reach the access lift, but it won’t work.
Remove blockage
From the access lift, turn right and move forward. Then use your grappling hook to reach the upper level.
Then jump over to the pipes and follow them into the next room.
You will see the elevator shaft on the right side. Use the grappling hook behind the shaft and pull yourself up.
Up here, turn right and remove the blockage with your grappling hook.
Reach space elevator controls
Amara and Zane will come up with the elevator, follow them now to the space elevator controls.
Activate space elevator
Now, just activate the elevator by pressing the button.
Exit control room
After the elevator ride, leave the room.
Kill everything
Then kill all enemies.
Talk to Amara
After killing all enemies, just talk to Amara.
This finishes Rising Action in Borderlands 4.
