Rush the Gate is the 6th main mission in Borderlands 4 (BL4). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Rush the Gate Main Quest.
- Starting Location: Kairos > The Fadefields > The Howl
- Quest Giver: Rush
- Unlock Requirement: having finished Main Quest 5: One Fell Swoop
- Recommended Level: 10
- Reward: XP, Money, Eridium, Rare SMG, Casual Collection Vault Hunter Head & Driftblade Vehicle
- Quest Description: It’s only defeat once you stop fighting, and Rush doesn’t intend to do anything BUT fight from here on out. Sol has shown his hand, and now it’s time for you and the Outbounders to show yours… ideally a closed fist, up close and personal.
Objectives:
- Check on Rush
- Defend Outbounders
- Talk to Rhodes
- Salvage Locust missiles
- Rendezvous with Outbounders
- Advance to Idolator Sol’s fortress
- Open gate with Locust canister
- Kill fortress defenders
- Activate elevator
- Kill fortress defenders
- Check on Rush
- Reach safe separation distance
- Kill Idolator Sol & Enter fortress
- Kill Idolator Sol & Kill Order forces
- Kill Idolator Sol & Find airship hangar
- Disable Sol’s airship, Kill Idolator Sol & Activate refueling platform
- Disable Sol’s airship, Kill Idolator Sol & Remove docking clamps
- Kill Idolator Sol
- Take Idolator Sol’s bolt
- Return to Outbounders HQ
Starting Location: Rush the Gate
Check on Rush
Enter the HQ and go downstairs to check on Rush.
Defend Outbounders
Leave the HQ and follow the marker to a location nearby and kill all enemies there.
Talk to Rhodes
After killing all enemies, talk to Rhodes.
Salvage Locust missiles
Look above Rhodes and jump into the air, and use your grappling hook to pull out the missile.
Rendezvous with Outbounders
Now follow the quest marker to another location.
Advance to Idolator Sol’s fortress
Follow the vehicle and kill enemies nearby.
Open gate with Locust canister
Once the vehicle stops, use your grappling hook to grab a canister from the vehicle and throw it onto the door.
Kill fortress defenders
After that, the vehicle will move forward, kill all enemies to proceed.
Activate elevator
After your friends talked for a bit, activate the elevator where the vehicle is.
Kill fortress defenders
After the elevator ride, kill all enemies in the area.
Check on Rush
Just head to Rush.
Reach safe separation distance
Get away from the vehicle so it can explode.
Kill Idolator Sol & Enter fortress
After the vehicle explodes, enter the fortress through the hole.
Kill Idolator Sol & Kill Order forces
Inside the fortress, you will reach an area with enemies, kill them all.
Kill Idolator Sol & Find airship hangar
A gate will open, and a badass enemy appears. Kill him or run past him and follow the path to find the hangar.
Disable Sol’s airship, Kill Idolator Sol & Activate refueling platform
Turn right and follow the path to find the hangar with the enemies.
Kill some and activate the refueling platform.
Disable Sol’s airship, Kill Idolator Sol & Remove docking clamps
Now get onto the platform in front of the ship and remove the first two clamps with your grappling hook.
The third clamp is behind the ship. Turn right and jump to the other side, and follow the path to reach the back of the ship.
Kill Idolator Sol
Move forward and jump, and glide to the platform in the back.
Follow the way and enter the elevator and press the button on the elevator.
Run past enemies and go up some stairs, and at the end, drop down the hole to find Idolator Sol.
He is armored, and you can not damage him until he drops staffs. One of the staff will be green, grab it and throw it onto him. This removes the armor and you can acutally damage him now.
After a while, he will turn the whole area dark, head to the glowing area to be safe from damage.
Also, the weak spots are the green bubble on his body.
Take Idolator Sol’s bolt
After killing Sol, pick up his bolt.
Return to Outbounders HQ
Now head back to the Outbounders HQ.
This finishes Rush the Gate in Borderlands 4.
