Sword of the Sea has 7 rideable animals that are required to be interacted with for the following trophies / achievements.
- Orca Rider
- Archelon Rider
- Humpback Rider
- Sperm Whale Rider
- Whale Shark Rider
- Blue Whale Rider
- Elasmosaur Rider
Rideable animals appear in certain levels after activating main water points to restore water to an area. They then swim around in the area and can be ridden on their set path by jumping on top of them, then the associated trophy/achievement will be awarded when you jump off. Nothing is missable, everything can be collected through Chapter Select.
Rideable Animal Locations
Veiled Sea
Orca – After restoring the water to activate the left chain in the large open area, a bunch of fish will appear in the area. Some of them are orca that will move around the area. Use the jellyfish to jump onto to ride it.
Lost Grotto
Archelon– After activating the main water point on top of the building that unlocks the door to finish the level, these turtle-like animals appear swimming around the shark statue. There are ones that appear earlier in the level that look similar, but don’t count toward this trophy requirement.
Shadow Tundra
Humpback Whale – After restoring the water in the area with the giant statue by activating the point on the statue’s hand, a bunch of fish will appear in the area. A few of them are Humpback Whales. Jump on one using the kelp that has appeared in the area.
Elasmosaur – In the next area you have the ability to use boosts by picking up wisps from the lit pillars. Go to the top of the area and use the boosts to reach the doorway on the left (facing down the hill). After restoring the water by activating the point in the skull fish will appear around the area. A few of them are Elasmosaurs. Jump on one using the kelp that has appeared in the area.
Sacred River
Sperm Whale – After restoring the water by activating the point in the middle of the large circular room, a bunch of fish will appear in the area. A few of them are Sperm Whales. Jump on one using the kelp that has appeared in the area.
Whale Shark – After restoring the water by activating the point on top of the large ship, a bunch of fish will appear in the area. A few of them are Whale Sharks. Jump on one that is swimming around the tops of the ship.
Blue Whale – After restoring the water by activating the point on top of the floating island, a bunch of fish will appear in the area. A few of them are Blue Whales. If you fall to the surface of the island you can get back up top to reach the whales using the kelp that appears around the buildings.
