Mafia The Old Country has 50 Newspaper Locations. Finding all Newspapers is required for The Collector trophy and achievement to complete the Collection. This guide shows all their locations.
None of the Collectibles in Mafia The Old Country are missable. You can see which Collectibles you’ve found in the Collection Menu. This guide lists them in the order they are closest together. All Collectibles are saved instantly. On chapter replays you can quit to the Main Menu without reaching the next Checkpoint and there’s no need to find them again if you die. Everything carries over between Story Mode and Free Roam mode.
Collectibles get marked on the map with white icons when you go near them. The ones you found will have a checkmark on their map icon.
10 Newspapers can only be found in the Story. The remaining 40 are found in Free Roam (Free Ride). You can access Free Roam from Title Screen > Carcyclopedia > Drive (unlocked during third story chapter). Newspapers in Story
1 – Floods in Europe
Chapter 2: Palio / Objective: Head to the Torrisi race tent – After you ride into San Celeste town, you will be in an area with lots of people and tents where the horse race is being prepared. BEFORE entering the white tent on the left where the yellow objective marker is, the newspaper will be to the left in front of the white tent. Interacting with the white tent will make you leave the area and you’d need to replay it via chapter select to go back.
2 – Russo-Japanese War
Chapter 4: Il Barone / Objective: Find Gennaro – After the car/horse chase, you will be in an enemy camp. Halfway through the camp you go through a cave filled with enemies. In the middle of the cave near a campfire is the newspaper.
3 – Sicilian Parades
Chapter 5: Vendetta D’Onore / Objective: Enter Ludovici’s villa – In the stealth section when you have to walk to the villa entrance at night, this will be on a bench to the left of the staircase leading up to the villa main building.
4 – Labor Protests
Chapter 6: La Difesa Siciliana / Objective: Follow Leo – After driving the car at the start of the chapter, you will get a cutscene and then spawn in a basement where you must walk with Leo. Immediately where you spawn enter the first room on the left (before going upstairs) to find it on a table.
5 – Tunnel Completed
Chapter 6: La Difesa Siciliana / Objective: Follow the informant – After finding the informant at the marketplace, you will follow him into the town hall. In the first room of the town hall this will be on the second table you walk past directly on the main path. Note: when scrolling over this Newspaper icon, it doesn’t show as being story-exclusive, but the town hall building is closed in free-roam and can only be accessed during Chapter 6.
6 – Chaos in Tbilisi
Chapter 9: Industria / Objective: Find a way into the foreman’s office – During the stealth section when you have to sneak through the factory, proceed until you go inside the first factory building. Take the first exit on the right to find the newspaper on wooden pallets.
7 – Marathon Scandal
Chapter 10: La Festa / Objective: Escort Isabella to the church – After the driving section at the start of the chapter, you will be in San Celeste town and walk together with Isabella. Go up the stairs to the courtyard in front of the big cathedral. When Isabella stops walking and the objective marker changes to speak to her, the newspaper will be on the wooden box next to where she stands. In plain sight on the main story path.
8 – Crowds at Car Race
Chapter 11: Mattanza / Objective: Regroup with Leo – During the combat encounters at the tuna factory, after climbing up a short ladder and killing a sniper who shoots at your friends. Drop down the platform where the sniper was to find your friends. Instead of following them, enter the room where all the enemies came from to find it on a desk.
9 – Camel Riders
Chapter 12: La Forza Del Destino / Objective: Get to the Royal Box – After sneaking past the guards in the backstage area of the theater, climb up the ladder and go over the wooden bridge above the stage (story path). After the bridge, turn right to find this on a box (instead of going through the red door on the left where the yellow objective is). Note: there’s no in-game map available for this area.
10 – Courtroom Drama
Chapter 14: La Merica / Objective: Get to Isabella – During the combat section, after going through an alley with small red explosive canisters scattered around the ground, you reach an area with a Repeater Rifle leaned against a wall where you should take cover, a sniper on a left rooftop and a bunch of enemies spawning. After clearing out the enemies, the newspaper is in the back right corner. Grab it BEFORE going to the yellow objective marker on the left of the area (going there will skip to the next area).
Newspapers in Open World Free Roam
11 – Opera Season
At Villa Torrisi, go up a staircase in the courtyard to find it, above the room where you bathed at the end of Chapter 1. It can also be found during the story but still spawns in free roam.
12 – Wave of Anarchy
Inside Villa Torrisi, upstairs, at the end of the hallway.
13 – Joy on Saints’ Day
In front of a house on a small table.
14 – Assassination Foiled
On the left corner of a villa on a barrel.
15 – A New Century
On a white stone slab next to a well.
16 – Chinese Relations
In front of the citrus farm on a small table to the left of the arched entrance to the courtyard (before entering the courtyard).
17 – Italian Explorer
In front of a house, on a small bench by the blue front door.
18 – Sicily Under Water
At the quarry, in front of the house on white stones.
19 – Art Exhibition
In front of a house on a small table.
20 – Races in Palermo
In front of a house to the left of the green door.
21 – Mutiny in Odessa
Behind a house on a bench.
22 – Driver Sets Record
On a pink house, go up the stairs on the front side of the house to reach it.
23 – Amazing Inventions
At the docks on a wooden crate. Go down the stairs to the docks to reach it, by the water, in front of the wooden boat bridge.
24 – Calls for Revolt
In the south of Port Almaro, upstairs in an alley where the houses are. Not down at the docks. Can go up the stairs at the south-east end of the docks by the water to reach it.
25 – Earthquake
In the upper part of Port Almaro, on the upper level (not down by the docks). On a small wooden table. Across from the alley with the previous newspaper.
26 – Outlaw Captured
On a bench on the side of a house, behind a wooden cart.
27 – The North Pole
On a wooden table at the train station.
28 – Police Shootout
On a wooden table. You reach it by following the road to the west of this collectible. There will be a closed iron gate on the path but you can open it while walking near it.
29 – Easter Celebrations
In front of a pink house on the ground, between two benches.
30 – Grand Duke Killed
On a barrel by the side of the road.
31 – Workers Strike
In the yard of Pasquale’s Gas Station, on a small table on the right of the garage.
32 – Peak Conquered
In the backyard of a house, on a small bench next to a wooden cart.
33 – A New Pope
In front of a house on a small bench, left of the brown front door.
34 – Heatwave
In the window of a destroyed house.
35 – Running the Tower
In the backyard of a house on a table.
36 – Baloonists Visit
Inside of a broken yellow car.
37 – Flying Men
On a barrel at a train station.
38 – San Francisco in Ruins
On a little wooden bench at the corner of a house.

In an alley on a stone bench, slightly east from San Celeste Town Hall.

49 – Firefighting Action
In front of a house on a stone bench, east of Pasquale’s Store.
50 – Battleship Launched
On a bench in front of a house.
