In Donkey Kong Bananza, there are three types of fossils you can find in the Canyon Layer. You’ll find common leaves, rare trilobites, and a very rare triceratops fossil as you journey through this mining town.

Below, we list where to find the rarer fossils in the Canyon Layer. Note that we’re not listing where to find common fossils, like the leaves. There’s simply too many of them to list, but we will help you find the larger, rarer fossils.

Trilobite fossil locations

Note that the game does not number the fossils itself, but we’ve numbered them for the sake of organization.

Trilobite #1 (Sublayer 300)

From the Longneck Plateau Village tuning fork, turn around and continue forth into the gap with the three crockoids in it. Use DK’s Hand Slap and you’ll notice the fossil behind the wall with the posters on it. Break down this wall to grab the fossil.

Trilobite #2 (Sublayer 300)

This fossil is inside the Stuff Shop next to the Longneck Plateau Village tuning fork.

Trilobite #3 (Sublayer 300)

When facing the Big-Stretch Base getaway, go to your right to the edge of the area and drop a couple of levels to find an entrance. Inside, climb the stairs to find this fossil.

Trilobite #4 (Sublayer 300)

You find this Trilobite in the area behind the Warp Gong. There’s a cylindrical platform with a Constructone beside it. The fossil is on the wall next to the platform.

Trilobite #5 (Sublayer 300)

You’ll find this fossil at the top of the Grumpy Kong statue’s head in Big-Stretch Peak.

Trilobite #6 (Sublayer 301)

While riding the first minecart in Sublayer 301, look to your right until you see a trilobite hanging on to a small wall.

Trilobite #7 (Sublayer 301)

Go ahead from the Banandium Refinery Staff Dorms tuning fork until the end of this area. This fossil is on the ground next to a triangular challenge door.

Trilobite #8 (Sublayer 300)

You find this trilobite buried next to a Battle Challenge in Neckreach Smokestack Exit. Dig next to the challenge entrance until you reach a layer of metal. Keep destroying the rocks around this area to find an opening on the metal layer where this fossil is located.

Trilobite #9 (Sublayer 300)

On the Click-Clack Smokestack (the last portion of Sublayer 300), there’s a section with rotating platforms on the wall. Drop from the one made of dirt to find a clogged-up door on the lowest platform available. Smash through the dirt to find this fossil.

Trilobite #10 (Sublayer 300)

In one of the rotating concrete plates around the top of the Click-Clack Smokestack Roof. Use your radar to prepare for when it will appear and use the Kong Bananza to break the concrete plate.

Triceratops fossil location (Sublayer 301)

There’s only one triceratops on this layer, and you can find it here:

Midway through Sublayer 301’s first minecart ride, you’ll drive around a giant triceratops skull. Shoot it enough times to get the fossil.
