The watering can in Tales of the Shire is used for, well, watering your plants. At the start of the game, when you’re introduced to gardening, you’ll be asked to use the watering can for the first time. The only problem is that the watering can is surprisingly well-hidden.
If you haven’t been able to locate it yet, here’s how to find the watering can in Tales of the Shire.
How to equip the watering can
During the side quest called “From Small Things,” which you’ll automatically receive in the early stages of the game, you’ll be asked to equip the watering can. This sounds easy enough, were it not for the watering can being absent from your garden.
Don’t go looking for a physical object; the watering can is equipped through Tales of the Shire’s tool wheel. Since you’ve been introduced to fishing first, you may still have the fishing rod equipped instead.
To swap to the watering can, press “T” on a keyboard or press Up on the D-pad on a controller. When you see the tool wheel, select the watering can on the right.
And that’s it! Hold the watering button while aiming at your plants to water them. Farmer Cotton would be proud.
