In Donkey Kong Bananza, the Racing Layer is home to the Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong and, of course, Banandium Gems. The duo finally make their appearance on the eleventh layer where you can find them racing alongside Rambi and a bunch of other rhinos. The bananas on this layer are mostly on the starting island, but there are a few strays that are fairly difficult to find.
Below, we list where to find all of the Banandium Gems in the Racing Layer we’ve found so far. We’re still updating this guide with more golden bananas as we find them.
Sublayer 1100 Banandium Gems
We’ve found nine Banandium Gems in Sublayer 1100 in the Racing Layer.
#1: Bruised Peekabruiser! Again!
This banana is found after you first land in the Racing Layer.
#2: Battle: Jumping Jukes
After you land in the Racing Layer, head towards the pink metal frame ahead of you. Before you start to cross, look down to spot the battle challenge.
Inside, you’ll face off against three indestructible stompoids. To defeat them, you’ll need to force them to break a hole in the floor and fall to their demise.
#3: Battle: Turf Surf Trampling
This battle challenge can be found in a cave underneath the Rumble Reception tuning fork.
To complete the challenge, defeat the first antickoid and pick up their rock. Start turf surfing across the metal spikes and spam the Y button to speed through all of the remaining antickoids.
4: ???
This Banandium Gem isn’t available on your first visit to the Racing Layer. We believe that you’ll need to return after you’ve progressed further or after you’ve beaten the main story of Donkey Kong Bananza.
#5: Racing Quiz Master
Quiztone is found in the cave underneath the Rumble Reception tuning fork. Answer all of their questions correctly to receive a banana.
Here are all of the answers in order:
- A sauna
- Eelings
- Chunks of stone
#6: Cranky’s Racing Rant
To the right of Quizone in the cave underneath the Rumble Reception tuning fork, you’ll find a monkey asking where the wall went. On the wall, you’ll also find an arrow pointing at a dirt patch on the ceiling. Climb the wall and punch upwards to find Cranky Kong and Rambi in a hidden compartment.
#7-8: Liftoff-Lope Finish line and Liftoff-Lope Buzzer Beater
The Zebra Bananza: Liftoff Lope challenge course can be found on the side of the island before the race course. When facing Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong, turn to the left and walk off the edge to find the entrance along the wall.
To receive the first banana, all you’ll need to do is finish the challenge. To get the second banana, you’ll need to finish with at least 20 seconds left on the timer.
#9: Tower at the Finish Line
This banana is found on top of the pillar to the right of the finish line. Grab a chunk of the liftoff ore to float to the top and collect your banana.
#10: Viewing the Track from the Back
In front of the podium, you’ll find three lanes of material — liftoff ore, mud, and dirt. Make your way over to the liftoff ore and look off of the edge to spot a floating island in the distance. You’re going to have to reach that island by using the liftoff ore and your Ostrich Bananza.
Before you start, you’ll need to put at least one point into the Ostrich Bananza’s glide ability. Transform into your ostrich form and break off a chunk of the liftoff ore to float into the air. As you’re lifting off, head towards the floating island to cover as much distance as possible. After the ore runs out, flutter and glide the rest of the way towards the banana.
