Elephant in the Room is a side quest in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Elephant in the Room side mission.
- Starting Location: Sukhothai / Outside Voss’s Camp
- Requirement: In the shrine northwest of Voss’s Camp, take a photo of the statue of Buddha
- Reward: 250 AP
- Quest Description: There’s something more to this shrine. Might be worth taking a closer look to discover whatever secret it holds.
Northwest of Voss’s camp is a wooden walkway across the water, then go to the northwest to find a ruined shrine. Head down the stairs and take a photo of the statue of Buddha.

Outside the shrine is an elephant statue. Take a photograph of it.
Discovery Note #29: Elephant Statue (70 AP)
Inside the shrine, on the right side of the room is an elephant statue. Grab it and move over to the statue of Buddha. In the front of the platform the Buddha is sitting on, there is an alcove with a pressure plate inside. Put the elephant statue on the plate to open another panel in the wall that has another pressure plate.
On the left side of the room is a straw covered alcove. Light it to burn the straw away. Inside is another elephant.
Place the second elephant on the plate in the wall alcove, which will open the left alcove on the platform. To activate the plate in the left alcove, we need to move one of the other elephants. Moving the one in the wall alcove will close the left alcove, so that won’t work. Instead take the elephant from the right alcove and move it to the left alcove, triggering the opening of a door to the left of the statue.
Inside is a secret room. As you enter, on your right side is another alcove with a pressure plate. Look on your left side to find a note.

Keep going around the corner. and at the end you will find a book on a table

Go back towards the corner and on the inside wall, whip and climb to reach a ledge to grab. Shimmy left until you can whip the branch above and swing to the platform on the other side.
In the wall at the back is a third elephant. Take it and drop down, then put it in the alcove at the entrance to the secret room.
With the elephant in the secret room alcove, the center alcove in the platform has opened. So now you have three elephants, but two are in the wrong spots. Here’s how we unravel this situation.
First move the elephant from the secret room alcove to the right alcove. That will close the center alcove and open the wall alcove.
Next grab the elephant from the wall alcove and put it in the secret room alcove, which will reopen the center alcove.
Then take the elephant from the right alcove and move it to the center alcove. This will close the wall alcove.
Finally grab the elephant from the secret room and move it to the right alcove. Which will cause a door in the north wall to open.
Mystery Note #10: King’s Elephant Shrine (80 AP)
This finishes Elephant in the Room side quest in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
