Death Stranding 2: On the Beach has 9 Hot Springs located in Australia. Digging a hot spring is required for the following trophy:
- Spring into Life
– Dig a hot spring for the first time.
You are also required to interact with hot springs to earn the following trophy:
- Written in the Stars – Study the night sky for the first time.
Like in the first game, hot springs allow you to bathe in them for various temporary effects and allow teleportation in a similar manner to Beach Jumping. Unlike the first game, after the first two you need to find the hot springs yourself, and create them at specific locations using the Hot Spring Digger that is built with a level 2 or 3 PCC.
To unlock the ability to dig hot springs you must first interact with the Miracle Spring outside of facility “The Motherhood“, and use the option to place the bucket on Sam’s head to be transported to the hot spring located inside Heartman’s Lab. After speaking with the Hydrologist, you gain the ability to create the Hot Spring Digger, and can then create the other 7 hot springs. Returning to The Hydrologist after creating a hot spring rewards you with likes, as well as some items you can customize each spring with that provide some more minor bonuses.
To earn Written in the Stars 
, you must sit in a hot spring at night in an area with clear skies. There will be an option to “Look at the Stars” by holding 
. You can then spot various constellations in the night sky rewarding Likes, along with the trophy. The two easiest springs to do this at are the Miracle Spring (near The Motherhood) or the Healing Spring (near the Animal Shelter) as there is generally less cloud cover at these two locations. If needed you can sleep to advance time in the DHV Magellan to advance to nighttime or change the weather.
Hot Spring Locations
The first two hot springs are required to be interacted with to unlock the Hot Spring Digger, which allows you to create further hot springs. The rest can be done in any order once you have access to the area they are in and the area is covered by the Chiral Network.
There are no hot springs located in Mexico, all are located in Australia.
#1 – Miracle Spring
Directly west of The Motherhood
#2 – Heartman’s Spring
Inside Heartman’s Lab
Effect: Boosts stamina
#3 – Chiral Spring
On the mountain ridge between The Dowser and Heartman’s Lab
Effect: Increases cargo weight capacity
#4 – Healing Spring
Northwest of the Animal Shelter near the cliff edge
Effect: Restores stamina
#5 – Digestive Spring
Northeast of The Lone Commander on the cliff above the Tar Lake
Effect: Increases effects from consumables (drinks and Cryptobiotes)
#6 – Metallic Spring
On a flat area of the mountain directly southwest of The Chronobiologist
Effect: Repairs cargo containers dropped in the water
#7 – Clairvoyant Spring
In the middle of the open mountain area directly east of the Eastern Environmental Observatory
Effect: Easier to spot items in the environment
#8 – Recharging Spring
Directly north of BPAS
Effect: Recharges batteries
#9 – Tar Spring
Directly south of The Tar Therapist
Effect: Harder to detect by BTs
