Lies of P: Overture DLC is a prequel to the main game. It is a paid DLC that needs to be purchased first, available for $29.99 / €29.99.
Step 1: Beat Corrupted Parade Master Boss in Main Game to obtain Star’s Chrysalis
To access the Overture DLC, you must have made significant progress in the main game. You must have completed Chapter 9 (Chapter IX) and defeated the boss “Corrupted Parade Master“. Once you’ve done that, you’ll receive a special item called the Star’s Chrysalis.
If you already made sufficient progress in the main game, you may automatically receive a notification when launching the game that the Star’s Chrysalis has been added to the inventory. If you don’t see this message, check whether you’ve actually finished Chapter 9 and defeated the required boss. If you’re playing in New Game+ and haven’t completed Chapter 9 again, you’ll need to replay up to that point to receive the item. The Star’s Chrysalis does not carry over into NG+ unless you’ve earned it again.
Step 2: Use a Stargazer to teleport to Chapter V – Path of the Pilgrim
Once you’ve obtained the Star’s Chrysalis, open a Stargazer and teleport to Chapter 5 (Chapter V) > Path of the Pilgrim. You’ll notice that the icon for this area has changed slightly, this signals that a new quest is available.
After you teleport, a cutscene will play where butterflies lead you toward the Stargazer. Don’t worry, you don’t have to walk there yourself, the game does this part automatically.
When the cutscene ends, you’ll see a prompt for the Lies of P: Overture DLC. Hold X (PS5) / X (XB) to start the new content.
You can return to your main storyline at any time while playing the DLC. However, keep in mind that if you defeat the final boss in the base game, you’ll need to replay up to Chapter 9 again to access the DLC in New Game+. So it’s best to finish the DLC before completing the main game’s final battle.
