The Elden Ring Nightreign release time is, befitting the source material, way more complicated than it needs to be.

Elden Ring Nightreign, a roguelike multiplayer Elden Ring game, rolls out this week with a fractured release schedule. Whether you’re playing on consoles or PC will determine when you can dive in, but even if you start at a different time than your friends, you’re not entirely missing out: As of the time of publication, Elden Ring Nightreign does not support crossplay.

Here’s when Elden Ring Nightreign releases depending on where you are in the world and what platform you’re playing on.

Table of Contents

What to expect from Elden Ring Nightreign

Elden Ring Nightreign is a multiplayer roguelike twist on Elden Ring formula, though with some unconventional matchmaking restrictions: You can play it by yourself or with two other people, but it does not support two-player at launch. Sorry, duos!

For everyone else, there are eight character classes to choose from in Nightreign, all of which fit into predetermined character molds from the base Elden Ring. Each run unfolds across three nights, with each night culminating in a boss fight. And some of those fights include bosses from Dark Souls, developer FromSoftware’s notable series of action games, winking and nodding at a potential FromSoftverse.

All told, Elden Ring Nightreign, which sells for $40, isn’t quite as expansive as a full FromSoftware game, but more a focused spinoff for true Elden Ring diehards. Read Polygon’s Elden Ring Nightreign preview for more.
