Gifts are a major portion of Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny and dictate what story paths happen. Gifts are integral when trying to complete all scenarios. Below is a list of a major portion of the easier gifts to obtain. Below the gifts is a section that outlines which gifts each of your friends really likes to help max out friendships for each playthrough. Start giving gifts as soon as you can to start building friendships as soon as the first meeting in Imasho.

This guide is updated for the 2025 remaster of Onimusha 2 on PS4, Xbox Series S/X, PC:

Gifts:

Frog – From the start of the game follow the path until you get to the cutscene of the rocks appearing in the little lake and the cave opening. Once opened and you have control of Jubei the frog will be hopping around on the floor to the right side of the path.

Folding Fan – From the start of the market (Imasho Town), head into the shop immediately to the right, this is Imasho Bar. Head inside and navigate your way upstairs where you will find a chest with this item in it.

Kiseru – From the start of the market (Imasho Town) head into the shop immediately to the right, this is Imasho Bar. Head through the bar and out the back where you will see a save statue. On the opposite side of this open area is a chest containing this item.

Cloth – From the start of the market (Imasho Town) head into the shop immediately ahead of you, this is the blacksmith building. Inside there will be a bunch of boxes you can break to make your way to the other side of the room where you will find a chest with this in it.

Beetle – On the path to the Gold Mine you will see this beetle climbing a tree. Interact with it to get this item.

Egg – For sale at the General Store in Imasho for 50 Gold.

Grilled Fish – For sale at the General Store in Imasho for 100 Gold.

Salt – For sale at the General Store in Imasho for 50 Gold.

Vodka – For sale at the General Store in Imasho for 300 Gold.

Conch Shell – For sale at the General Store in Imasho for 300 Gold.

Compass – For sale at the General Store in Imasho for 300 Gold.

Plant Encyclopedia – For sale at the General Store in Imasho for 200 Gold.

History Book Vol. 5 – For sale at the General Store in Imasho for 100 Gold.

Blue Parrot – For sale at the General Store in Imasho for 500 Gold.

Wonder Flower – For sale at the General Store in Imasho for 100 Gold. Can also be dropped by enemies.

Globe – From the start of the market (Imasho Town) turn around and head up the stairs behind you. Once at the top landing you will see a chest to the right that has this item in it, next to the table with the pickaxes on it.

Tengu Mask – From the start of the market (Imasho Town) turn around and head up the stairs behind you. Follow this path until you get to the stables and cannot go any farther. This mask is in a chest across from the stable with the horse in it.

Telescope – When leaving Imasho Town using the stairs next to the furnace building this will be in a box on the main path on the left side.

Ancient Documents – From the start of the market (Imasho Town) turn around and head up the stairs behind you. Run through this area with the stands selling wares and through the gate ahead. Once outside the gate you will see three people standing there. Speak to the one on the right side of the screen to receive this file.

Textile Fabrics – Given as a random gift from Eiki when trading.

Deer Antlers – Given as a random gift from Eiki when trading.

The Analects – Given as a random gift from Eiki when trading.

Watermelon – Given as a random gift from Eiki when trading.

European Hat – Given as a random gift from Magoichi when trading.

Castella – Given as a random gift from Magoichi when trading.

Cameo – Given as a random gift from Magoichi when trading.

History Book Vol 4 – Found in a chest outside the gold mine after showing the permit to advance.

Mirror – After the fight with Ginghamphatts continue down the path until you get to a dead end. There will be a chest on the floor at this dead end and this item will be inside.

Lemon – For sale at the General Store in Imasho after defeating Ginghamphatts for 200 Gold.

Hair Ornament – For sale at the General Store in Imasho after defeating Ginghamphatts for 300 Gold.

Book of Short Stories – For sale at the General Store in Imasho after defeating Ginghamphatts for 200 Gold.

History Book Vol. 10 – For sale at the General Store in Imasho after defeating Ginghamphatts for 100 Gold.

The Art of War – Given as a random gift from Kotaro when trading.

Hard Boots – Given as a random gift from Magoichi when trading.

Crystal Ball – Once in the Infernal Cauldron head through the door and before heading up the stairs this will be on the back side of the stairs in a chest.

Incense – Once you enter Gifu Castle and take out the lizard enemies open the chest by the northern doors to get this item.

History Book Vol. 1 – In Gifu Castle past the first Save Point is a box in the following room. This book is in that chest.

Black Pills – For sale at the General Store in Imasho after meeting Oyu for 100 Gold.

Pocket Watch – For sale at the General Store in Imasho after meeting Oyu for 300 Gold.

Treasure Box – For sale at the General Store in Imasho after meeting Oyu for 700 Gold.

Calligraphy Kit – For sale at the General Store in Imasho after meeting Oyu for 300 Gold.

History Book Vol. 8 – For sale at the General Store in Imasho after meeting Oyu for 100 Gold.

Naughty Novel – For sale at the General Store in Imasho after meeting Oyu for 500 Gold.

Kaleidoscope – In a chest in Jubei’s House in the first room to the right.

Fork – In Jubei’s house in the room off the side of the one with the kaleidoscope.

Dice – After getting the Red Ring head into the Gold Mine and speak to the man in the first area 3 times to get this.

Loaded Dice – After returning to Ishamo for the 3rd time speak to the same man who gave you the Dice in the Gold Mine for this item.

Glass –  On your third trip back to Ishamo speak to the man in the green shirt outside of the stable with the metal horse in it for this item.

Comb – On your third trip back to Ishamo speak to the vendor on the left with the blue stand and table when leaving the stables heading toward Ishamo BEFORE speaking to any friends.

Fur Skin – Speak to the man next to Kotaro if you meet Kotaro on your first trip to Imasho.

Wine – Given as a random gift from Magoichi when trading.

Crown – Given as a random gift from Oyu when trading.

Sake from Kagu – Given as a random gift from Oyu when trading.

Pirate’s Costume – Given as a gift from Oyu when given the Rouge.
