The Reliquary is an updated version of Diablo 4’s battle pass, debuting with the launch of season 8. Instead of a single track for you to progress over the course of the season, you’re instead able to choose the kind of rewards you want and spend in-game currency to unlock them.

In this Diablo 4 guide, we’ll walk you through how the Reliquary battle pass works, and give you a breakdown of the different categories of items you can find in its debut season.

How does the Reliquary work in Diablo 4?

The Reliquary breaks the battle pass up into multiple different categories. Rather than requiring you to level up through the battle pass over the course of the season in order to unlock rewards, you’re able to earn Favor by killing demons and doing quests. You can then spend that Favor in the individual categories on various different items you want.

Different items have different costs associated with them. A simple weapon skin might cost just 2 Favor, while an elaborate horse mount might cost 10. By fully completing an entire category, you’ll unlock a single piece of the deluxe armor set for the season.

Each Reliquary category has eight to nine rewards to earn, including the deluxe armor pieces. You can learn more about the current season’s Reliquary categories and their costs in the section below.

The season 8 Reliquary has four different categories at launch, one of which is free:

* Belial’s Return (free): Cosmetics based on the season 8 theme and the new boss, Belial

* Weapons (200 Platinum): Weapon skins that are based on Belial and the eye motif

* Beasts (500 Platinum): A variety of pets and mounts, including another cat-like mount and an owl

* Armor (800 Platinum): Armor skins that are based on the Belial and the spikes motif

There is a bundle in the store to purchase all premium Reliquaries for 1,000 Platinum, whereas buying all three individually will cost you 1,500 Platinum — a 33% discount.

Unlocking every item in each Reliquary will give you a piece of the Belial-themed armor set, so you’ll need to purchase and complete all four if you want the entire thing. There is also a deluxe battle pass bundle for 1,800 Platinum that includes several bonus items, including a premium set of wings and an owl pet that you can’t unlock elsewhere. The deluxe bundle also automatically unlocks the fancy Belial set, regardless of your Reliquary progress.

From May 6 to June 3, a fifth event Reliquary category — themed around the Diablo 4 Berserk collaboration — will appear in-game.
