You will be awakened by Lucien Ruches, the spokesperson for the Black Hand. Talk to him, take the side quest of "A Knife in the Dark" and start the Dark Brotherhood Mission Chain.
Lucien Laches will give you a blade of grief. To complete the mission, you must find and kill an angry old man named Rufio who lives in the Evil Guesthouse.
Once Rufio is dead, the hero must sleep again in a safe place to summon Lucien Laches. He will make you a member of the Dark Brotherhood.
