The Zashiki is a room for your Hideout in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Once built, it increases your ration efficiency by 20%, making your healing more effective — just like the Tea Room.
Our Assassin’s Creed Shadows guide will tell you how to unlock the Zashiki (by offering support to a Settsu merchant) and how to build it.
How to unlock the Zashiki in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
When you first reach the Hideout, the Zashiki will be locked with a message that you have to “offer support to a Settsu merchant.” It doesn’t tell you who to talk to or where to go — or that you’re actually looking for a specific quest and will have to finish the first act of the main story before that quest will even show up.
After you unlock Yasuke, you’ll get a new quest marker on your map in Sakai in the Settsu province. It will only say “The Iron Hand Guild” when you hover over it.
When you head there, you’ll find Imai Sokun, who you last saw during the tea ceremony during the “Searching Sakai” quest.
When you talk to him, he’ll unlock a new board of quests on your Objectives menu — predictably named The Iron Hand Guild — and five new assassinations to track down.
Killing the first of these targets will unlock the Zashiki.
Where to find the first Iron Hand Guild target in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
The assassination targets you’re after in The Iron Hand Guild are spread across the map — and are likely found in areas you’re not leveled up enough to explore yet. Luckily, one of them — Merchant Tamao — is in Kyoto, a town you’ve already explored.
You’ll find him in central Kyoto east of Honnoji Temple and west of Honpoji Temple.
When you get to his location, you’ll overhear the workers there talking about how their manager doesn’t want to be disturbed. All you have to do to bring him out of hiding is to wreck up the place a bit. So unleash your inner Link and smash a bunch of jars.
Once you draw him out, all that’s left is the stabbing. As soon as he’s dead, the Zashiki will unlock and you’ll be able to build it for 90 crops, 370 wood, 280 stone, and 960 mon.
