The popularity of exhibits in "Double Point Museum" is a very important data in the game. The more people look at the exhibits, the more money the museum makes. In addition, popular exhibits will also ask customers to donate money to you, and decorations can also increase the popularity of exhibits.
How to increase the popularity of exhibits in Double Point Museum
The popularity of the exhibit represents how impressive and exciting it is for the guests. Generally speaking, the rarer the item is, the higher the heat it generates. In most cases, the overall experience of the guests is determined by the overall heat of all the exhibits they see during the visit.
Although popularity and knowledge will affect the evaluation left by customers, only popularity determines how much they are willing to donate.
Decoration
Placing a decor near an exhibit will increase its overall decor score, ranging from 1 to 5. The higher the decoration score (represented by the frame icon in the statistics of the exhibit), the higher the popularity of the exhibit will be.
Decorations that match the types of exhibits (such as prehistoric times, marine life, etc.) will more effectively improve the overall rating of exhibits.
Popularity bonus
Many exhibits have a heat bonus, which provides an extra 5 points of heat if placed near a specific item. This bonus will be displayed on the left side of the screen when you place the exhibit, and you can hover your mouse over the total number of hot spots of the exhibit at any time.
A few exhibits with heat bonus have multiple requirements. You can meet some of these requirements, get a smaller bonus, or meet all requirements to get a maximum bonus!
Quality
The quality of the exhibit (i.e. its rarity color) determines its maximum popularity. If you find an exhibit that is the same as the item you already have, but with a higher quality, you can replace the old one. Lower quality exhibits can be chosen for sale, or it is best to send them to the analysis room (see below) for some permanent upgrades.
Multi-part exhibits (such as dinosaur skeletons) will gradually improve the quality of each part, and will eventually become perfect after completion.
Maintenance and dirt
The heat of the exhibits is limited by the overall maintenance level; if the items are not taken care of by the appropriate experts for a long time, they will accumulate more dirt, which will reduce their heat. It is important to make sure there are enough experts on duty to keep the exhibits in the best condition.
Exhibits will quickly decay if they are in an unsuitable climate, and many exhibits, especially living plants and animals, have some characteristics that will be destroyed when their maintenance reaches zero.
