In Monster Hunter Wild, the red spirit scale of the Toe Knife is not exhausted by attacks. Instead, alcohol gauges gradually deplete over time. With this in mind, it is recommended to use a crimson action first and then break with a spirit helmet to completely drain your spirit gauge.
