The aircraft in "Civilization 7" is an air combat unit, but many players do not know how to unlock the aircraft. First, the aircraft type must be unlocked through two waves. The first wave is unlocked through "flying" technology, and the second wave is unlocked through "aerodynamic" technology.
How to unlock the Civilization 7 aircraft
As you might expect, the aircraft is only available in the modern era. Since Civilization 7 divides the game into three broad eras, you won't see a particularly advanced civilization launching air strikes on innocent archers of a particularly primary civilization.
This means you will almost certainly fight enemy aircraft, which also makes the system even more exciting.
The aircraft type is unlocked through two waves. The first wave is unlocked by the Flight Technology, which unlocks the following types of aircraft and their unique unit versions:
Biplane
Bombardier
Air Station Commander
Squadron Commander
Trench Fighter
The second wave unlocked by the Flight Technology:
Diving Bomber
Fighter
Heavy Bomber
Don't think that Flight Technology is only exclusive to military victory. You also need it to achieve a scientific victory, because "Flight" unlocks the air station (a must-have for building aircraft!) and the "Transea Flight" project, while "Aerodynamics" unlocks the "Breakthrough Sound Barrier" project.
Since "flying" technology will only appear in the later stages of the modern era, there are only secondary and third-level air units, so don't be confused if you miss the primary unit.
