There are a lot of side quests in STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl, and Warlock's Debtor is one of them. This quest requires you to take back from a young Stalker what Warlock had lent to him. Currency, you will face interesting choices and encounters during the process, which will give you a preview of the challenges and dilemmas you will encounter as the game progresses.
How to be the debtor of the Warlock side quest in STALKER 2
Start the Warlock's Debtor quest
After completing the main quest and arriving at Zalissa for the first time, you will encounter "Overseer", triggering a brief cutscene and interaction. Afterwards, the Warlock will contact you and ask you to talk to him. You can choose to accept his proposal, or simply ignore him and continue to follow the main quest.
Talk to the Warlock
Approach the Warlock and start talking to him until you get the first dialogue option, asking him if he has any quests to do. He'll tell you about Varric the Jackass, a young rogue who owed the warlock a large sum of money and never paid it off. Apparently, the warlock wants you to find Valric and make him repay this debt.
Upon accepting this quest, the Warlock will remind you that he does not want you to harm or kill Valric. He just hopes you can scare Valik into understanding how things work in the penalty area. After everything is ready for the mission, you can set off to find Valik and help the warlock get back the money he owes.
Find Varrick the Donkey
After talking to the Warlock, he will tell you that Valik was last seen at the Water Tower north of Zalissa. Follow the mark on the compass and follow the route until you see the building and water tower in the distance. Slow down as you approach as you will soon encounter some enemies waiting for you.
Talk to Cool Godima
As you approach the water tower and the warehouse next to it, you will encounter a group of gangsters led by the name Kugodima, who will stop you and ask what your purpose is. Since you are all looking for Valik, Dima will try to make a deal with you, telling you to go in and force Valik out so they can deal with him.
However, the Warlock doesn't want anything bad to happen to Valric, so we strongly recommend against handing him over to the bandits. Instead, select the "Don't tell me what to do" option and prepare to fight off the gangsters in the area. There are three gangsters, including Dima, in front of the building, and a lone gangster behind the building.
Kill the four gangsters and loot their corpses to collect ammo, healing supplies, and new weapons. Then, head to the door and wait for Valik to come out and greet you.
Talk to Varrick the Donkey
After rescuing Varric the Donkey from the gangsters, he will come out of the warehouse and start talking to you. Continue talking to him until you get the option to tell him to "pay him back the currency you owe the Warlock" so you can get some of the currency as well.
Varric will agree to send the currency to the Warlock, immediately putting 900 coins in your pocket and completing the "Warlock's Debtor" quest. If you talk to Valik further, you might get some clues as to where he's hiding out, and what might be inside.
Find Varrick the Donkey’s stash of items
If you have exhausted all dialogue options with Varrick the Donkey, you may hear him mention that he tried to strike first with a scoped rifle by positioning himself on a water tower, but after He had no time to prepare before Dima arrived.
So, head to the water tower and start climbing up that giant ladder until you reach the top. Once you reach the top, you'll see a package located in the center of the water tower. Loot Valik's stash and you'll find an AKS-74 rifle with a scope and 45 rounds of ammunition.
This weapon is in very good condition, so you won't need to repair it right away. It's also very powerful, making it a valuable item to have early in the game. You can also take it to Zalissa's camera and have him further upgrade it, making it an even more powerful weapon!
