Unlocking different levels of this skill will allow you to collect more materials from your prey, initially unlocking pelts and later items such as antlers, tusks, and claws. As your skills improve, you'll be able to use these materials when crafting more advanced items, so unlocking this skill early can save you a lot of time.
Another hunting skill is called "Leather Master", which is located in the fourth column of the skill tree. This skill increases the number of items you gain when skinning. This means you get more resources in less time hunting, making it well worth the investment.
