The iceclaw Corius in "Dragon Age: Shadowkeep" is a very powerful and powerful monster in the game. If you want to fight the iceclaw Corius, you first need to keep a distance. Warrior characters are at a disadvantage here because they are accustomed to rushing to the front lines.
How to fight the Ice Claw Corius in Dragon Age 4
Corius is an ice dragon and therefore particularly vulnerable to fire damage, so Davlin should join your party to fight alongside Lucanis. Defeating Corius seems nearly impossible since your character level is well below the requirements for this fight. Well, it's really hard, but as the saying goes "there are many ways to slay a dragon," so your approach to completing this task may be different than you expect.
How to damage the crampon Corius
When you first face Korius the Iceclaw, you may find that your attacks have little effect. You deal very little damage, and Corius' attacks will knock you out almost every encounter. But you need to realize that this fight is not a traditional strike fight. You're not just trying to chip away at Corius' health, its counterattack can get you into trouble quickly.
In fact, you only need to reduce Corius' health by one-third, and the animation will end and the mission will be completed - Corius will fly away injured.
Of course, at the current level, it is still a problem to reduce its health to two-thirds. When fighting Corius, you should keep your distance. Warrior characters are at a disadvantage here, as they're used to rushing to the front lines, but even their tanking abilities can't withstand Corius' attacks. Keep your distance, dodge its attacks, and use Davlin's fire damage and Lucanis' abilities to deal damage.
If you have fire skills, or other skills that provide good area control, use them here.
When Corius' legs turn purple, it means his legs are vulnerable and this is your time to attack - check out our Weaknesses guide to learn how to exploit this. In short, attacking these weak points will cause extra damage.
However, if you stay in these areas for more than a few seconds, Corius will kick you away and drain your health instantly. Therefore, you need to attack quickly and then retreat quickly, aiming from a distance.
These attacks will cause Corius to become "knocked back" (we have another in-depth look at this), at which point he will fall down. At this moment, its belly will turn purple, becoming a new weak point. You can take the opportunity to attack it with your most powerful skills and charged slams.
With a bit of luck and clever use of Davlin/Lucanis' skill set, you should only have to fight it off once (at least on standard difficulty) to do enough damage to end the fight.
Of course, this isn't your last encounter with it. Next time, you'll be more prepared and it won't take as long to beat it. If you're curious about another possible ending, if you choose to go to Minlatus with Neve, you'll face a flaming dragon - Velantus the Burning Tooth. But it won't be your last encounter with it either. Happy hunting.
