How to complete the For the Love of Treviso quest in Dragon Age 4

Throughout the mission, you don't need to make major decisions. Additionally, there aren't any main battles, so you're free to choose any of your companions. However, we recommend picking one that deals a lot of Necrotic damage, as all enemies are weak to this.

Talk to Teia and Viago

Once in Treviso, follow the objective indicator to find Teia and Viago. You can see them having a heated argument with Governor Evans about Antam's rampage in the city. Additionally, you'll learn about a mysterious messenger who is said to know the location of the gods' rituals.

There are no wrong choices here, so choose the one that fits Rocco's personality—and remember to select "More" on the dialogue wheel to learn more.

In the next room with the red couch, pick up the book collection entrance and head outside towards the market. Use the zipline to reach a courtyard and make sure to open the chest before jumping off.

Walk along the narrow ledge next to the statue and jump into a room containing the Parade Helmet of Antivader. Once collected, pull the nearby lever to open the door and continue forward.

Meet the Mysterious Notifier

The next part is pretty simple - just follow the objective indicator to get to a door. Here you will be asked to choose your companion. Berala, Harding, Emmerich, Tash and Nievi are all completely viable options. The final battle isn't the toughest, so choose your favorite character!

When you are ready, enter the door and discover that your "mysterious messenger" turns out to be Dathrata the Butcher. Again, your choices don't matter here: there's just a slight change in the dialogue.

Defeat the Butcher

Once he's gone, you'll need to deal with a pair of Warband Kalata equipped with large shields. They are vulnerable to undead damage and resistant to lightning damage. Remember, you need to use charged attacks to destroy their shields. Once they're dealt with, head to the flooded area.

Follow the objective indicator to find the Butcher in the Flooded Zone. You see him being corrupted by the gods and fighting his own Antam.

Before heading to the Butcher, turn left to collect the Free Trade Instrument souvenir, and enter the nearby room to find the Butcher's Screw for Lucanis in a chest.

Similar to the Antam we fought earlier, the Butcher is vulnerable to undead damage and resistant to lightning damage. He also has armor, so you need to destroy it first. If you have someone who can deal necrotic damage, that should help resolve the entire fight easily.

He can breathe fire in a straight line, so it shouldn't be difficult to dodge. Whenever you get too far away from him, he will try to superhumanly punch you to quickly close the distance. This attack has a relatively long lead-up, giving you plenty of time to dodge. If you see him with his hands up, it means he's about to launch a stomp attack - sometimes a two-hit combo.

Throughout the fight, try to avoid getting hit, as his attacks can easily stun you and take heavy damage. Also, don't forget to use your ultimate ability to chip away at his health when available. At approximately 10% health, the Corrupted Butcher will fall to his knees and be temporarily stunned. When this happens, rush forward and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the final blow.

Before dying, however, he would reveal the name of the place where the gods planned to perform their rituals. You'll also learn that Governor Evensi is a traitor, but we'll deal with him another time. Now, return to Teia and Viago to complete the quest.

Players receive some rewards at the end of the "For the Love of Treviso" mission in Dragon Age: Shadowkeep. You'll get some Void Crystals, 400 gold, +250 Antaiwen Crow strength, the Executioner's Blade, and an increased relationship with the two companions you brought to the mission.
