Skill enhancement in "Dragon Age: Shadowkeep" is very useful in the game. After the enhancement mark appears, the original skill effects will have some changes. The enhancement effect will occur after specific choices in the main story. You first encounter it after choosing which town to protect from a dragon attack.
What is the use of skill enhancement in Dragon Age 4
You may have noticed that some of the skills you unlock for Rook or your companions are labeled "Augmented" in the skills menu, but there's no explanation of what exactly that means. Since it can affect gameplay as well as the storyline, you'll want to know what to do with it.
What is reinforcement
While it may not be explained to you before it appears on the skill tree, the power-up effect occurs after specific choices in the main story. You first encounter it after choosing which town to protect from a dragon attack. Towns you don't help, whether Neva or Lucanis, will become fortified, affecting their abilities.
If a character is powered up, their relationship with Rook and the wider team will be negatively affected by a choice. They will become less trusting of others and more dependent on themselves, which will impact their role within the team.
Their damage output has been increased, but they will no longer use support skills. While they will be very powerful in combat (assuming you can add them to your party), they won't heal you and other teammates like they used to.
Additionally, relationship progress is slowed down while in the enhanced state. If you complete quests in a party, your relationship with them won't progress as smoothly as with other characters, meaning they won't unlock new gear and abilities at the same rate.
Fortunately, the enhanced characters return to normal as the story progresses. You'll want to make sure you make the right dialogue choices and treat these power-ups well. Once they're back on track, they may lag behind the other partners in relationship status, but at least you don't have to worry about their effectiveness in combat.
