In "Dragon Age: Shadowkeep", companions can be changed midway, but changing companions requires some methods. First, once you select the destination, you can find the "Change Team" option above the "Start Mission" button. , and the two team members you currently selected.
How to change companions in Dragon Age 4
You are not allowed to change companions at will in the game. Instead, you'll need to carefully choose your followers when starting a mission, or look for the fast-teleport beacons scattered throughout most areas.
Start a new task
Your first chance to choose your companions is when you step out of the lighthouse. Once you select your destination, you can find the "Change Team" option above the "Start Mission" button, along with your currently selected two team members. Please note that Dragon Age: Shadowkeep only allows you to select two party members at a time.
Another thing to keep in mind is that in the first three or four missions of Shadowkeep, you can't choose your teammates. Even after meeting a third party member, circumstances will determine which two will accompany you. The first time you actually get a chance to choose your companions is when you start the story mission "Crossing the Crossing."
Beacon
When you're on a mission or simply exploring a major area, you'll encounter quick teleport points called beacons. If you are defeated, your team will reappear at the nearest beacon. When you select them from the map, you can instantly traverse the entire area. The beacon is also where you can change the composition of your team.
This last feature is not as obvious as the first two, mainly because you will discover the beacon before you gain the ability to swap party members. However, once you get to a beacon (after starting the mission "Crossing the Crossing"), you will see the text "Calling the Team" appear. In the BioShock games, "calling a team" has become somewhat of a running joke, but in this case, pressing the indicated button or key will take you to the screen for selecting a team.
