You can play online with friends by creating custom rooms in PvP or World Championship modes. After selecting the mode you want to play, follow these steps:
Select "Create Room" to open the room settings menu.
Choose your room settings from the following options:
Tournament Rules (World Championship only): Select the tournament rule set you wish to use.
Ranking: This option determines who can join your room based on their online ranking.
Combat Rules (PvP only): This option lets you choose destruction point, team or solo combat rules for the room.
Time (player-versus-player only): This option lets you set a time limit for each battle.
Language: This option allows you to set whether you want to play with players who speak the same language.
Participants (Player Versus only): This option lets you decide how many players can join your room.
Private Slots: This option lets you allocate a certain number of player slots for private invitations.
Connection quality: This option lets you set the network connection requirements for players who want to join your room.
Reflective Ability Items (Player Versus Only): This option allows you to toggle the effect of ability items.
Battle order (World Championship only): Determines whether tournament matches are played simultaneously or sequentially.
Once you are satisfied with the settings, select "Confirm" to create your room.
You can invite players to join your room in two ways:
Enter the submenu (triangle (△)/Y), select "Invite Friends", and send game invitations to your friends through your system's online services.
Send a room ID to friends and they can enter it to join your room - press L1/LB to display your room ID.
